Stephanie's POV:
Once I woke up I ate breakfast. I helped out my mom by opening boxes and just moving everything in place. It was around 3 and I decided to go change. I didn't want to dress up fancy nor didn't want to dress up like if I was having a lazy day. I got a flannel, black skinny jeans with black converse. I quickly changed and straighten my hair. I finish packing boxes till I heard someone knock on the door. I grabbed my phone and went to open it. Hayes was standing there."Ready to go?" He smiled. "Yeah let's go." I said closing the door behind me. He took me around showing me where the school was, downtown, the park, the mall, etc. We decided to go get some Starbucks and head back to the park.
HAYES POV:
We went to Starbucks and headed back to the park. It was lonely since it was getting late but, I didn't care. We sat on a swing just drinking our drinks. I wanted to know more about Stephanie but, I didn't know how. Then I got a plan. "Want to play 20 questions?" I asked. "Yeah sure you start." she said. "Ok...hmm do you like LA?" I asked thinking it was probably a stupid. "Well so far yeah I guess,it's been a good beginning." She smiled looking down. We keep asking the simplest questions. I wanted to know more. I was really interested about her life. It became a long silence.
STEPHANIES POV:
It was silent and I didn't even know what to say. I got to know a little bit more about Hayes. But, for some reason I wanted to know more about him. "So, how come it's only you two?" he broke the silence. I never thought he would have asked the question nor I didn't want him to. I look down not knowing to tell him the truth.
HAYES POV:
She didn't say anything. I felt bad maybe I shouldn't have asked. I didn't know what to do now. "Well my parents... Well my dad, he." she said as looking up at the sunset with watery eyes. "He just not worth it. He lost his job when I was like 15. Slowly started drinking and then when I started 16 he was addicted..." She looked down. " After a while... When I turn 17 he started abusing my mother and I. He wasted my mothers money on beer. He is just... Not worth even talking about." she said looking down. A tear slowly fell dow her face. I couldn't believe that today was just the second day that we meet and she's over telling me deep things. I got up and hugged her it wasn't right seeing her cry.
STEPHANIES POV:
He got up and hugged me. "It's ok, my parents are divorced. And the man who came is my step father and Skylynn is my half sister." he said still hugging me. I separated from the hug and whipped my tears aways. " I'm sorry" I said looking down. He lift my chin making me face him. "It's all good I know how it feels and it sucks but, you will get use to it." he said with a smile and quickly side hugged me. "Thank you so much Hayes." I said feeling better. "It's good I'll be here." he said with a smile I smiled back. "We should start heading back it's getting dark." he said. "Yeah let's go." We headed back. He took me to my doorstep.Before I went back in Hayes spoke up. "It was fun hanging out we should hang out more often." "Yeah we should I liked hanging with you too Hayes." I smiled. "Oh and thanks about all that positivity over there in the park." I said blushing a little. "Its fine I'll be here when anytime you need to." Hayes said. "Thanks again Hayes." I smiled. "Yeah and if you need me for anything you can text me." He said. " I would but, I don't have your number." I said. "Right." he said. I giggled and we exchanged our numbers. "Okay well I'll text you soon bye Stephanie." Hayes said walking toward his house. "Bye Hayes." I said turning around and walking in the house. I smiled really big looking at his number. Today was well spent.
