Love Off Track - Pato O'Ward

ONCE

THIRD PERSON POV: 

Valentina looked over at Fabio, she was glad to have him. "I wonder what Catalina and Christian are doing now..." whispered Fabio, "Making out." joked Valentina. Fabio chuckled to himself, and sighed. He sat up straight and looked at Valentina, "Thank you..." sighed Fabio. "For what?" asked Valentina, she was confused. "For getting pregnant and keeping our child, I know it wasn't planned but thank you." explained Fabio, Valentina smiled to herself. "Thanks to alcohol you mean..." joked Valentina once again, "Yeah and Tony..." sighed Fabio.  

Valentina hadn't thought about Tony since she found out that she was pregnant over three months ago, and that was thanks to Fabio. "Thank you Fabio for being with me for every step of this pregnancy, and for finally maturing." said Valentina, Fabio let out a tiny laugh. "It was about damn time!" he yelled. "How am I going to tell my brother?" wondered Valentina out loud, she was nervous to tell him. "Go up to his current girlfriend and punch her, then tell him..." joked Fabio, "Oh my god why didn't I think of that?" asked Valentina sarcastically. 

"In all seriousness though, ask him out for lunch or dinner then tell him. Explain everything to him, after all he is your brother..." said Fabio, "I guess your right..." whispered Valentina. The two of them enjoyed their moment of quietness together, the relationship between them was very unexpected. Something that neither of them would have predicted over four months ago, not even God himself could. 

• Time Skip •  

Valentina was bouncing her leg up and down quickly, she wanted to run away from the problem that she was now going to tell to her brother. Suddenly the door to the restaurant had opened, her head immediately looked towards the door. It was him, her brother that she hasn't spoken to for three months. Their eyes connected and he walked over to the table that she was sitting at, he stopped right in-font of her. She stood up and they hugged, not once did he look at her stomach. Although she was only three months pregnant, her stomach had grown a lot. 

Enea sat down and so did Valentina, she let out a breath. Not a word was said in-between them, it was extremely awkward. "sooo..." said Valentina, she was trying to lift the tension between them. "I'm sorry." admitted Enea, he then took a deep breath in. "I was an idiot for punching Tony, although he did deserve it. I should have listened to you, I hope you could forgive and we could try and go back to normal. I understand if we can't..." said Enea, he felt like there was a lump in his throat. 

Valentina smiled at her brother, for once he had finally apologised for his mistakes. "I accept your apology, but things can't be the same" grinned Valentina, "Oh okay..." whispered Enea with tears in his eyes. "That's because you're going to be an uncle!" exclaimed Valentina, Enea stayed silent he couldn't believe it. "You're pregnant?" he asked, "Yes I am!" yelled Valentina. Enea had given his sister a blank stare, he didn't believe her at all.  

Valentina had seen this and she calmed herself down, she decided to explain it all. After all Enea is her brother, the one person that she could always count on. "It isn't Tony's, and I'm three months along. The father is Fabio Quartararo, but don't get mad it was a mistake! We did it one night and I fell pregnant with his child, he has changed a lot since I told him. We aren't together, but I love him. I don't know how to explain it, it isn't romance love though..." explained Valentina, she looked down at her hands.  

Enea smiled, he reached out for her hand. She placed her hand near his, he gave a quick squeeze and pulled away. "I'm always proud of you, I want you to know that..." he whispered, Valentina looked up at him with hope. "As much as I don't approve of the whole thing, there is nothing I can do except to be there for you and to accept everything." explained Enea, "Thank you..." whispered Valentina. 

• Time Skip •  

Valentina arrived back at the paddock and she smiled, she was relived for once. She was now in a good place with her brother, and thats all what she wanted. Not only for her, but also for her future kid. She stared to walk towards Fabio's motorhome, but something had stopped her. She look behind her and she had seen him, the man who she hadn't though about for over three months was now standing behind her. 

She quickly turned around, and she started to run towards Fabio's motorhome. She wanted to feel safe and comfort once again, not pain and heartbreak. She had reached the door to Fabio's motorhome, she was about to enter but a hand had pulled her back. "Let go!" she screamed, she realised who it was. "Tony fuck off!" she yelled, Tony's grasp on her arm had gotten tighter. "You're hurting me, let go!" cried Valentina, she was hoping that someone would save her. 

Tony looked her dead in the eyes, he didn't look like himself anymore. "Valentina wh-" he tried to speak, but a door slamming open in-front of him had shut him up. "Let go of her now!" yelled Fabio, Tony immediately let go of Valentina and he took a step back. "What are you doing?" asked Fabio with a stern look on his face, Tony suddenly snapped. "Is this why you stopped talking to me, you shut me out. Just so that you could Fuck this pathetic bitch, I should have known!" yelled Tony, he raised his hand and was about to slap Valentina. 

Fabio saw red, he pulled Valentina back into his arms. "Who do you think you are, don't you dare ever talk the the woman who is carrying my child like that ever again!" screamed Fabio, Tony stayed quiet. Guilt was written all over his face, and he lowered his hand. "I'm sorry..." he whispered and with that, he quickly left. 

Valentina started to cry, she was scared. Fabio took her inside and sat her down on his couch, the only thing on his mind was making sure that she was alright. He didn't say a word, he let Valentina cry and pour her heart out to him. He wanted to be here for her, thats the least that he could do for her. "Thank you for saving me, and for not hitting him..." cried Valentina, Fabio hugged her tightly. "As much as I wanted to hit him, he isn't worth it. As for you... I will always protect you" he whispered into her ear, she continued to cry. 

Valentina's heat filled with warmth, she loved Fabio. Fabio loved her, it was mutual love. But right now Valentina wanted to tell him that she loved him, she needed him to know. "I love you..." she admitted, "I love you too..." whispered Fabio. There was no need to say anything else, the both of the knew that it wasn't romantic love. It was love between soulmates who didn't need romance, they only needed each other.
