Royal Ball (end of arc)

I stood next to Levi waiting for the doors to open to enter the ball, I felt like we greeted over a hundred people. I was already tired from that and now we have this ball to introduce me to the court as the future Princess and Queen of Eldiana, I swear that sounds so weird when I hear it. I felt someone touching my hair and turned to see Violet, I smiled and she winked at me. Having her and Rin here keeps my mind at ease. I looked up at Levi who was staring straight at the door, his eyes were scowling at the door I knew it was because of his Father and the Queen. I didn't know how to make him relax I barely knew him but my body moved on its own, I wrapped my arm around his and moved closer to him our sides touching. I looked up at him as he looked down with a shocked expression, I smiled.
"You really shouldn't scowl like that," I said as I reached up and poked his forehead.
"You will get wrinkles and then your h-handsome face will look so old and sad." I said, I stopped poking him and looked forward. I could feel his gaze upon me but I kept looking forward still glued to his side.

Watson walks in front of the door which means The King and Queen are there so it's time for our entrance, I didn't feel nervous because Levi tightened his arm around mine. I felt safe knowing he was by my side and no one would dare to hurt me in front of him, I took a deep breath as the doors opened.
"His Royal Highness Prince Levi and his Fiancé Duke Erwin Smith's daughter Lady Ariana Smith Future Princess of Eldiana!" We walked in as everyone was clapping, and a path was opened for our walk to The King and Queen, I smiled and waved at everyone as we walked by and occasionally looked at each other with a smile to show our love. It was all an act but I felt like Levi had some type of emotion towards me after what happened earlier, no I need to focus on being the perfect Fiancé.

We continued until we reached the throne of The King with The Queen sitting right next to him, I could feel Levi's aura change the moment his eyes laid upon her, I squeezed his arm as we bowed before them.
"Rise my son and future daughter." the King said, we stood back up and looked at him.
"Thank you for the warm welcome back father, I would like to introduce you to my Fiancé Lady Ariana." Levi said, I curtsied.
"It's an honor to meet Your Majesty." I said.
"You are a very beautiful woman, Lady Ariana, I see my son has his Father's taste." The King said, Levi clenched his hands I could feel he didn't like what his Father just said.
"What do you mean by that Your Majesty?" I said, Levi gasped.
"You are as beautiful as my wife The Queen of course." He said Levi was shaking at this point.
"So are you saying Your son chose me because I am as beautiful as The Queen herself?" I said, people started to mutter.
"Yes, I am." The King said proudly.
"Hmph. I see." I let go of Levi's arm and stand in front of him.
"What are you doing?" Levi whispers, I reach up and grab his face pull him down to mine, and kiss him.

Everyone was in shock at my display with Levi in front of The King and Queen, I felt so angry that he made Levi angry so I wanted to do something to turn all the attention to me not him. I could tell his father was standing up and so was The Queen, whose aura was pure hatred for me. I stopped kissing him and turned around.
"I thank you for welcoming me into your family Your Majesty." I said as I curtsied, I lifted my head and stared directly at them with a cold look.
"I'll be taking very good care of your son." I said, they looked at me with frightened looks. The King looked at me like he had seen my face before, I wondered what came over me.

I turned to Levi who was still in shock at my display, I grabbed his hand and pulled him to the dance floor I signaled the orchestra and they started playing. I curtsied to Levi and he bowed to me as we started to dance, everyone was watching us and some started to join.
"What was that?" Levi asked me, I smiled.
"Me protecting you." I said, He dipped me.
"You know I don't need your protection, You need mine remember." He said.
"Yes, I remember that you and Father said I needed to be protected, I don't remember asking." I said, He pulled me closer to him.
"You are very stubborn and I loath stubborn people." He said in my ear, I felt my spin tighten up.
"You choose a stubborn Fiancé, Your Grace." I said.
"Yes, and she should be punished for her tone against the Crowned Prince." he said glaring down at me with his piercing grey eyes, I looked away.
"I don't believe my behavior has deemed me a punishment from you my dear Fiancé." I said he snickers.
"You are so much like Master." he said, I looked up at him.
"I am nothing like Father!" I said.
"Stubbornness." He said, I poked out my cheeks and turned my head.
"I can't argue with that but Violet tells me I am more like my mother." I said I felt sad now because she wasn't here to see me get married even though I didn't love him. Would she be okay with this?
