My Math Teacher

Chapter 4

I walk into the house, and I hear Lily. "Lukybear!" she yells and runs over to me excitedly. I sigh as she hugs me. I awkwardly hug her back. "What are you doing here, Lily?" I asked, and she smiled innocently. "Well, I wanted to see you, so I came over! I met your mom and dad! They also invited me to have dinner with you guys tonight," she says, and I look at my parents, who are nodding and smiling at me.

"Oh! That is great!" I say, trying to hide my disgust. "I know. Now I get to know your family and hear Mr. Parker will also be here! That's nice." She says, smiling. I nod and excuse myself to prepare for dinner, trying not to cry. This is not how tonight was supposed to turn out. She wasn't supposed to be here, and now my family thinks I'm in a happy relationship when I don't want it.

Then Casey comes into my room. "Why the hell is Lily here like she's your girlfriend?" She asked, and I looked up at her with tears. "She's blackmailing me into dating her otherwise; otherwise, she is gonna tell everyone my secret," I say and sigh. "What secret, Luke?" She asked and came to sit next to me. "Please don't be mad at me, but I'm gay," I told her and looked down. She didn't say anything until she hugged me tightly. "I'm not mad. I wish you had told me sooner, though then we could have found you someone, and I could have helped you escape this mess," she says, smiling. "Thanks, sis," I say and smile at her. "Of course!" She speaks and gets up to get ready for dinner.

-Time skip to dinner-

I go downstairs after getting ready, and I hear a knock at the door. "Coming!" my mother yells as she goes to the door. My heart speeds up when she opens the door. "OH, Leo! So glad you could make it!" she says and smiles. He smiles back and hands my mom some flowers, which she dramatically excepts. She lets him inside, and then we lock eyes and smile at each other. Then Lily comes into the room. "Mr. Parker, what are you doing here?" She questions, smiling. He looks at her, and his smile fades into a fake one. "I am their next-door neighbor, and they had invited me over to dinner," he says to her, and she nods and grabs my hand kissing my cheek.

I fake smile at her, and she giggles, returning to the kitchen, and my mom smiles, laughing, "They are just the cutest couple!" She says and smiles at me before following my "girlfriend" to the kitchen. I sigh and walk up to Leo and smile a genuine smile. "I'm glad you are here," I say quietly, and he smiles at me and leans down to whisper in my ear. "Your mom will be saying that about us one day," he whispers, winking at me. I start to blush like crazy I mean, I know we have kissed, and I like him a lot. I didn't know if he would want to pursue a relationship with me because him being a teacher and me being his student. I guess he did once I dealt with Lily. I smile at him, and we make a bit of small talk when I hear my mom yell, "Guys, it's dinner time!" we smile and walk to the dining room and sit down for dinner.

I sit across from Leo as he sits next to my mom and sister, and Lily sits beside me. As we are eating, my mother looks up at me and Lily. "So, when did you start dating?" she asked, and I looked at her. "Um... today," I said, and she smiled. "Yea, I asked my Lukybear out before school started. I've liked him since middle school and finally got the courage. Then he said yes." She says, giggling. She is probably happy that her plan is working. I nod and look at Leo. He seems unhappy with this whole thing, and I completely understand. I want to be in his arms.

"Oh, My Goodness!!!! That is so adorable!" My mother says, smiling and looking at my dad. "Isn't that amazing, honey? Our little boy is growing up!" She said to my dad, and he nodded, smiling. "Yes, it is adorable, honey," he said. They all start talking about how cute Lily and I are. While I'm just staring at Leo, and he's staring at me. We both look at each other with frustration. I then have enough of it and slam my hands down on the table and stand up.

"Okay, enough! Me and Lily aren't dating. She is blackmailing me!!!" I yell, and my parents look at me in shock. Leo and Casey are surprised but look prions. Lily glares at me and sighs. "What are you talking about, Luke?" My dad asked. "She told me that if I didn't date her, she would tell everyone, even you guys, my secret," I say and look at them with tears in my eyes and fear. They look at me with concern. "What secret, honey?" She asked, and I sighed, tears streaming down my face. "I-I'm gay," I tell them, and they look at me, surprised but with love. "Honey, why didn't you tell us sooner?" My dad asked, and I looked at him. "I was afraid... y'all wouldn't accept me," I said, and my mom and dad giggled. "Honey, we love you no matter what! Nothing is going to change that." My mom says, and Dad nods. Then they look at Lily with disgust. That's when all hell breaks loose.

"Why the hell would you do that to our son!!" yells my mom. "Because I WANTED HIM! We would be the cutest couple! Also, it is perfect for the head cheerleader and the football team captain. I mean, come on!" Lily yells back, and my mom rolls her eyes. "Get out of my house. You disgust me!" my mother shouts. Lily huffs and storms out. Thank god, then my mom looks and realizes Leo is still here. "Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry, Leo!" my mother apologizes. "It's quite alright. I'm just glad Luke has a good support system. Well, I'll be on my way," he says, and my parents say good night to him. "Luke, why don't you walk him home?" my mom asked. "Sure, I can do that," I say, and Leo looks at me. "You sure?" he asked, and I nod. We head out the door, and we walk over to his place.

Leo looks at me and smiles, opening his door. "Thank you, Luke. I appreciate this," He says, and I smile back. "Of course! Don't live but a few steps, so I don't mind," I chuckle, and he nods. "Well, I'll see you at school tomorrow?" he asked, and I smiled and nodded. He takes my hand and pulls me closer. "I know we have kissed before, but I don't know if we can continue.." He said, and I looked at him with tears. "I get it, Leo.." I say back, and he nods and then walks in, closing the door behind him.

I sigh and run home and straight to my room, crying my eyes out. I like him, but I understand where he is coming from.
