"And then I went to go pick it up, but you're never gonna believe it..." I heard Mariana say from behind me as we were all piled into the car headed to a fun destination for the day."It was gone?" I guessed knowing I was right but going along with it for the sake of my daughter.
"It was gone!" She restated a little more loud than needed to be.
"Will you tone it down, half your siblings are already deaf from you. And if one more goes deaf, no one will be able to listen to you at all anymore." I heard Brandon say irritated.
"Hey, let's be nice to each other." I heard Stef say as she was driving while keeping her eyes focused on the road.
"Yes, let's please all just get along today." I added from the passengers side wishing things would go more smoothy than my wife and I were envisioning.
"Okay well for starters, having us all crammed in the back seat of your vehicular mode of transportatio-"
"No one cares." I heard Callie interrupt Jesus. I took a deep breath as I could only imagine the headache my wife was beginning to feel.
"Listen up gang, today we are headed to the apple orchard. Let's all make a joint effort, specifically you siblings to have a fun and easy going day." I said.
"Easy going is not a word in our vocabulary, you as our moms out of all people should know that by now." Mariana chimed in as Jude continued staring out of the window in silent excitement.
"Can we pick pumpkins!" I heard Jesus shout just as loud as Mariana had been speaking earlier.
"Will you shut up, you are more annoying than-"
"Knock it off!" I heard Stef's voice interject Brandon as it was certainly louder than our kids combined.
"Yeh, knock it off Mozart." Jesus said snickering.
I suddenly saw Brandon hit Jesus on the side of the head as after that, it irrupted into pure chaos. In conclusion it finished with Stef pulling the vehicle to the side of the road, turning around and giving a harsh but much needed stern talking to our children. This included threatening them to drive the car back home which meant no petting goats today, no corn pit, and no going on the bouncy which was the icing on the cake to make them go silent.
It had worked as the rest of the ride was smooth sailing with the occasional snicker between Callie and Mariana which for the most part I found to be harmless. I could hear the faint sound of Jude's humming in the background as I was surprised Brandon didn't tell him to shut up too.
"Okay, rules for today-" I began as my voice broke the silence.
"No biting." Jesus said interrupting me mid sentence in a somewhat loud voice once more.
