Sofia and I went into my office following the meeting. I went up to my desk, set the tablet atop it, sat down and immediately logged on to my computer. I started going over the files on it again, going back forth between the tablet and computer to ensure I formally rejected the proposed partnerships that were mentioned today.

...

After many hours, Sofia and I finished the basis. She's been working very diligently and hasn't had a break yet.

"We finished most of what we needed. Go rest," I told her. She nodded, got up, grabbed the folders she needed and left my office. I sighed and reclined in my chair, closing my eyes, slowly feeling myself start to relax.

Suddenly, I heard my phone buzzing against my desk. I opened my eyes, picked it up and looked at the screen.

Mother.

I ignored the call, turned my phone off and reclined in my chair again, wanting to get my mind off things for a bit.

As much as I wanted to, I kept hearing my phone go off. I'm not going to answer her...as much as she tries.

I got up from my desk and went up to the window. I tucked my hands into my pockets and looked outside. It's quite gloomy today, like it's going to rain again.

My phone continued vibrating against my desk. I was getting annoyed of the noise. I grabbed my phone off my desk and turned it off completely. Suddenly, I felt a slight rumble in my stomach. I held it, then looked at the time. I haven't eaten all day. I should go get something.

I went to grab my coat, then left my office. Luckily, when I stepped out of my office, my assistant was still at her workspace. "Sofia, I'll be back in an hour," I said to her. She nodded and I made my way to the elevators.

When I made it to the 1st floor, I told the front desk I needed my car and it was brought to the front promptly. I exited the building and got in my car, quickly driving off.

I found a decent restaurant not too far from the company. I parked, entered, was quickly seated and handed a menu. After I knew what I wanted, my order was taken, and the waiter left.

As I waited, I decided to turn my phone on. I saw the countless missed calls I had from Mother. I scrolled further down and noticed Father called a few times as well. I sighed, bothered at the fact that I know why they desperately want to contact me. I deleted all notifications and put my phone away.

"Your meal Miss L/N."

A waitress arrived and carefully set my meal and beverage down on the table. "Thank you." She nodded and left me alone. I started eating, not thinking about anything besides my meal.

After I finished, I cleaned off my area and went to the bathroom to wash up. When I exited the restaurant, I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. My assistant was calling me.

"Yes?"

"Ms. L/N, your parents are here asking for you."

What?! I huffed, then asked, "Do I have any more meetings for the next 2 weeks?"

"No ma'am."

"Then have everything sent to me via e-mail. Tell them I've left the country on an important business meeting."

She agreed. I hung up, then got in my car and left the restaurant.

Right when I was about to get back on the road, 3 individuals appeared from out of the corner of the restaurant building. I quickly slammed on the brakes and looked up.
