3 weeks went by since the blizzard ended.

The accumulation of snow in the area was extraordinary.

Cars were hidden underneath the snow, businesses closed down due to the extreme weather conditions, people couldn't leave their homes due to the amount of snow blocking their doors.

Despite the salted roads before the blizzard happened, snow plows were having a very difficult time getting through to clear the streets.

During this time, Y/N was struggling. Since the power was still out and her phone was dead, she couldn't contact anyone or do any work. Being in someone else's home limited her productivity even more. The only time she would feel useful was when Eren would cook.

Whenever Eren would try to have a conversation with her when they would be together in the kitchen however, her answers were short and vague. Y/N became more cautious and distant after her little slip up before.

He felt that the progress that they'd made had disappeared.

One afternoon...

Sitting on the couch with a warm blanket over me, I threw my head back and closed my eyes. I let out a gentle breath, feeling my body relax against the comfortable sofa.

Right when I felt myself dozing off, I heard a loud beeping sound come from the kitchen. I instantly opened my eyes and sat up. I got up from the couch, wrapping the blanket around me, then walked to the kitchen.

Looking around, I tried to find the source of the noise. As I did, I glanced at the microwave and oven. The lights are on.

I went up to the light switch and flipped it on, seeing the chandelier shine brightly. The power is back!

I went back to the living room and took the blanket off me, leaving it on the couch. I reached for and grabbed my jacket, taking my phone out of the pocket, then went downstairs to the basement.

"Eren, the electricity is back," I said as I descended the stairs. When I saw him, he was facing the other direction, seated at a large desk. From where I was standing, I could see several pages scattered on top of it.

"Eren?"

I furrowed my brows, wondering why he wasn't answering me. I took a few steps towards him. Is he ignoring me?

Once I stood behind him, I called out to him one more time, but he didn't answer.

As soon as I reached out and grabbed his shoulder, he flinched and immediately turned in his chair to face me, grabbing my wrist firmly. My eyes widened in surprise.

"Oh! I'm sorry!" he said a little louder than normal. No wonder he couldn't hear me. He's wearing earphones. I glanced on his desk, seeing that they were connected to an old school phone. Interesting.

He let go of me, took out his earphones, got up from his seat and said, "I didn't expect you to come down here. Did you need something?"

Holding my wrist, I said, "I just wanted to let you know that the electricity is back."

"It is?"

I hummed in response, then glanced at the phone again. "I assumed you knew since you were listening to music." He glanced at his desk, then said, "Oh no, don't misunderstand. I found this phone while I was looking for some supplies. I got curious and turned it on and saw that it had charge, so I was listening to the old songs I saved on it years ago."

"Why am I explaining myself like this?" he wondered.

"I see. Well, I wanted to ask you if you have a charger for my phone by any chance?" I showed him my phone and he said, "I think so, hold on."
