The Galaxy (Part 1)

Y/N arrived at the Room of Requirement where Cal was waiting for him.

"Morning Master." Y/N said as he walked into the room.

"Mornin' Y/N. Come on, we should get going, I've got a surprise for ya." Cal said as he lead Y/N out of the room. 

They walked for some time until they at a large open field, the only thing that looked out of place in the field...the huge starship.

"So it was you...I knew it." Y/N said as Cal smirked.

"Yeah, though I gotta say, I prefer the other ship."

"What happened to that?" Y/N asked as he and Cal boarded the ship.

"I've left it with...some friends." Cal said as he paused for a moment before starting up the ship, taking off and plotting a course for a far off planet. Y/N sat in the passenger seat and watched as they went off into space, and watching as they shot off into hyperspace.

He watched in wonder at the blue vortex, Cal smirked to himself as he looked at his apprentice looking at the sight.

"I was the same the first time I saw space." Cal said as Y/N stared out at the sight.

"It's beautiful." Y/N said as Cal nodded and looked over to a photo next to him, it was of a girl around the same age as him, the pair of them stood next to a young girl around 7 or 8 years old.

"Yeah." Cal said as he looked at the photo. They walked into the main area of the ship and sat down.

"What exactly are we doing master?"

"We're going to meet some friends of mine, or at least friends of friends. But mostly, this is your first field assignment." Cal said as Y/N looked shocked.

"But...master, I'm not ready." Y/N protested as Cal looked at him.

"It won't be a solo assignment, I'll be coming with you, and besides...you fought a 60ft snake last year that could kill you with eye contact and you fought the most dangerous dark lord this planet has faced in the past hundred years. I'd say you're rather overqualified for whatever the hidden path have for us." Cal said as he ruffled Y/N's hair.

There was a profound silence for a few moments until Y/N spoke.

"Master. I think...I think there's something wrong with me, I don't think I'm the jedi I'm supposed to be." Y/N said as Cal looked at him.

"Really? Why's that?"

"Well, just before Harry and I left the Dursleys, something happened, when Aunt Marge was insulting mine and Harry's parents, there was a brief moment where I was angry..." Y/N said pausing for a moment, trying to find the right words for what happened next.

"Kid, everyone gets angry, even jedi, the code is not that you cannot feel anger, it's that you shouldn't let it consume you." Cal said as Y/N looked at him and shook his head.

"That's not just it master, when I got angry, she started choking. It was only when Harry looked at me I realised I was the cause. The same had happened to Vernon when he was attacking Harry but I didn't think anything of it at the time, I was just relieved he'd stopped trying to attack us for that moment. I was force choking them...and force choking is an ability associated with the dark side-" Y/N stopped when Cal let out a sigh and got off the couch and knelt down to eye level with Y/N putting his hands on Y/N's shoulders.

"Now Y/N, I want you to listen to me very carefully here okay. This is important. Yes, the ability to choke people through the force is commonly attributed to dark force wielders, but it has also been used by jedi. Remember what Dumbledore told you at the end of last year? It's not our abilities that define who we are...it is our choices. From what you have just told me, only one of those occasions was a misuse of that ability that might be seen as a dark act, you shouldn't have lost your temper like that at Marge, when we get back to Hogwarts we'll go on to advanced control of the force and working on finding balance. But the time when Vernon was attacking you, that was an accident, the same could somewhat be said for the Marge incident, you didn't know you were doing it and the first time it was self defence. We'll talk about it when we get back, for now, keep your mind in the present, and keep an eye on how I fly this thing, it'll be good to know for your lessons next year."

"Yes master...wait, what?"

"Next year, I'm teaching you how to fly a ship." Cal said with a chuckle as Y/N looked astonished.

"Really?!" Y/N asked with excitement as Cal smiled.

"Yeah, I know an old friend of mine who owns a saloon, he said he's got a spare ship for me, I've told him about you and mentioned you might need one when you learn to fly, so you got your own star ship waiting for you when you're ready to fly...of which I'll be the judge." Cal said as Y/N's eyes widened with joy. "Come on, we should be there soon, let's get ready, and let me do the talking, these people are rightfully jumpy."

Y/N nodded as they went back to the cockpit and sat down as the ship came out of Hyperspace arriving at the planet Cal had keyed in.

"Tanalore, home to the Hidden Path. Enjoy your stay." Cal quipped as he began the descent...
