Bad Lupin!

The quartet and Sirius had emerged at the base of the calmed Whomping Willow. Sirius stepped out of earshot for a moment as he wanted to look at the scenery of Hogwarts, Y/N knelt down to check Rons wound, he turned to Harry.

"Go on, talk to him." Y/N said gently as Harry smiled, walking off to talk to Sirius. Y/N looked down at Rons wound. "Too much for a simple healing spell to work, best we can do is bandage the wound up until you get to the hospital."

Y/N reached into his pockets and pulled out a first aid kit.

"You carry first aid in that pocket? I thought you carried your books in there." Ron questioned as Y/N smirked.

"Magic pockets." Y/N said proudly.

"That looks painful." Hermione noted.

"So painful, they-- they might have to chop it off." Ron joked, mimicking Malfoy when he'd hurt his arm. Y/N let out a small laugh before using wipes to clean the wound, Ron let out a hiss in pain as Y/N eased up for a moment. Then Y/N patted the wound dry with some gauze before bandaging Rons leg up. Ron let out a shallow cry of pain.

"Wuss." Y/N said as Ron let out a chuckle. Hermione just cuffed Y/N around the head for his poor bedside manner. "I'm starting to think you enjoy hitting me 'Mione."

"I do when you're an idiot." Hermione stated as Lupin dragged a squirming Pettigrew out of the tunnels at wand point.

"Please, you won't let them take me, I was your rat. Clever girl, clever gir-" Pettigrew was interrupted by Y/N using the force to knock Peter onto his backside.

"Stay away from her you rat bastard." Y/N said before looking to Hermione and seeing she had cuts on her face, Y/N gestured for Hermione to sit closer so he could help, When she knelt on the grass Y/N used the first aid kit to help her as best as he could. "You'll need to put some ice or something like that on that cut later, make sure it doesn't swell."

Hermione gave a gentle smile before Y/N looked over her shoulder to see the moon peaking out from behind the mountains, realisation hit him and was evident on his face. Hermione notice the look on his face and turned to see what had shocked him, when she saw the moon Hermione figured it out as well.

"Harry!" Hermione called out as Harry and Sirius turned to see she was pointing at the moon.

The moonlight hit lupin and he began to turn more pale by the second.

"Remus my old friend, have you taken your potion tonight?" Sirius said as he rushed to hold onto Remus who was beginning to scream in agony as his transformation began. Y/N stood in front of Hermione, Ron and Harry who were terrified by what they were seeing. "You know the man you truly are, Remus! This heart is where you truly live! This heart here! This flesh is only flesh!"

Lupin let out an agonized cry as Y/N watched the transformation begin. Pettigrew went to pick up Lupin's dropped wand but Harry disarmed him using expelliarmus. Pettigrew just smiled and waved before turning into Scabbers and scurrying away like the rat he was.

"Run! Run!" Sirius shouted to the four students as Lupin transformed into a werewolf, sending Sirius flying away.

What was left was a skinny, more human looking Werewolf, Ron was urging them to leave but Y/N and Hermione both wanted to try and talk to the professor.

"Professor?" Hermione said as she stepped forward.

"Professor Lupin? Can you show me you're okay?" Y/N said as Lupin growled and howled up at the night sky.

As the werewolf inched closer the quartet backed up.

"Nice doggie, nice doggie." Ron squealed. Snape arrived from the tunnel at the base of the willow.

"There you are, Potters." Snape said, his voice filled with rage as he grabbed them both by the scruff of the neck. Snape then heard the growling and turned to face Lupin, the wolf swiped at Snape knocking him to the floor and making Hermione fall over as well, Y/N stepped between the wolf and the rest of the group, he used the force to send lupin falling onto his back.

As Lupin got back up and ran at the four students he was tackled by Sirius Black, who was now in his dog form, the pair engaged in a short battle before Sirius led Lupin away from Snape and the quartet.

"Sirius!" Harry exclaimed as he ran after them.

"Get back here, Potter!" Snape called out as Y/N turned to Hermione nodded to her before sprinting off after his brother, his poncho flowing in the wind. The two brothers arrived as Lupin was about to finish off Sirius, Harry picked up a rock and nodded to Y/N who returned the nod. Potter tossed the rock into the air and Y/N used the force to give it more power than a throw, the rock hit Lupin in the back of the head and he began to charge at both Harry and Y/N with the intent to kill, just as he was about to attack a distant howl came from the woods, it sounded almost human and like a slightly familiar voice was making the noise but neither Y/N nor Harry could put their finger on who or what it was, but they were grateful as Lupin rushed off in search of the source of the howl.

The two brothers saw Sirius transform back into his human form before limping away. They ran after Sirius and found him unconscious in a clearing with a pond. The two boys ran over to him and Y/N was looking him over to try and see if he could help with the injuries, but they were beyond even his abilities. They were interrupted when the pond began to freeze over.

Soon dementors were circling above them as they had found their target. Harry and Y/N tried to use expecto patronum on the dementors but it didn't last long. Then the Dementors began to attack both Harry and Sirius as Y/N was trying to send them away using the patronus charm, but he couldn't, the small light flickered for a second before dimming. Harry eventually passed out, as had Sirius, a white light came from his mouth and Y/N realised he had to stall the dementors until help arrived, so he decided to add another course to their menu.

Y/N looked down at the unconscious Harry and Sirius before feeling his rage boil over inside of him at the thought of losing his brother, both of his hands shot out and the dementors were all pushed back by the force as they tried to get to Harry and Sirius, Y/N was letting out a yell as he could feel exhaustion begin taking it's toll on him, his vision was blurring from the sheer effort it took to keep this up.

Just as he lost consciousness with Harry fading in and out of consciousness, the brothers saw a wave of patronus light sending the dementors away as they passed out...
