>Tara's POV<
After dinner with Sam, we went straight home afterward.
I walked into my room and saw Amber playing her video games. She hadn't heard me come in.
I walked up to her slowly and put my hands on her shoulders.
She jumped. "Woah! Tara. Jeeeeesus."
"Hey heyyy." I giggled, wrapping my arms around her.
"Don't do that again." She laughed.
"I scared youuu?" I said.
"Not really." She shrugged, bluffing.
"Should be more aware of your surroundings." I said.
She laughed and turned around, straddling me on her lap.
"How was dinner with Sam?" She asked me.
"It was...deep." I replied.
"Deep how?" She asked.
"We had some necessary conversations about sensitive topics, but overall, it was great." I said.
"Hm. Well, I guess it's probably good to get everything off our chests. It'll help us adapt and heal better." Amber responded.
"You got anything you wanna get off your chest?" I smiled.
"Not really. I think I've done a lot of trauma spilling lately. Therapy is helping." She said.
"That's good." I poked her nose.
"Also I uh, I promised Mindy her and I could spend some time together tonight if you don't mind." Amber said.
"Oh- Oh yeah, that's fine." I replied.
"If you want me to stay home, I will."
"No, no, I'm just not used to you being out at night without me. I guess I get worried, but I'm being a hypocrite because I went out with Sam. Enjoy yourself." I said.
"I'll be careful, I promise."
"Ok, have fun." I said before kissing her cheek.
>Amber's POV<
~at the Park~
"I got us some coco." Mindy said, handing me a cup.
"Thanks, Minder Minder." I said.
We walked in silence for a moment, looking at the sky.
"Ya know after college... I've been thinking about what's gonna happen with us." Mindy said.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean, we've spent our whole lives together. After we get our degrees and start working... how often are we gonna see each other?" Mindy said.
"We could always just stay in the house we're at. I think for people who have been through what we have, that seems reasonable." I responded.
"Oh, good." Mindy muttered.
"What, you were worried?" I asked.
"I wanted to stay in the house. I guess I was just making sure everyone else did."
"Nobody's leaving you, Min." I said.
"Good, I need you." She held my hand.
"And I need YOU." I replied.
"Besides, it'd be way easier to plan a double wedding if we live together." Mindy said.
"A double what?" I said, surprised.
"Ohhh nothingggg." Mindy sang.
I nudged her arm playfully, and we continued our walk.
"You are my best friend, ya know." Mindy said to me.
"Mindy." I smiled.
"No, seriously, I mean, in the years, we've bonded over so many things."
"True." I said.
"I mean, we literally came out to each other and proceeded to coach each other's love lives. If that's not a best friend..."
"Then what is?" I finished with a smirk.
"Thank you, by the way." Mindy said.
"For?" I asked.
"For giving me the courage to go after Anika."
"Sometimes all it takes is a little push." I said.
"I don't think I could have a better girlfriend." Mindy said.
"Aww, cuties." I blushed.
"Thank you. We should double date again." Mindy suggested.
"To where?" I asked.
"Skating. That sounds fun."
"I haven't skated in foreverrrr. I'm gonna bust my ass so badly." I said.
"Practice makes perfecttt." Mindy said.
"You just wanna record me falling." I smirked.
She laughed and wrapped her arm around me.
"It's getting late." Mindy said.
"And with every minute that passes, Tara worries more. We should get back." I smiled.
"Tara's a wife." Mindy said.
"I KNOW, right?" I replied as we walked to the car.
>back home<
I walked into the room, and sure enough, Tara was on the bed waiting for me.
I took off my clothes and shoes and got under the covers comfortably.
"You could've gone to sleep, ya know." I said.
"I wanted to wait for you." She said, hugging me.
"Sweetie." I replied.
"Goodnight, I love youu." She sang.
"I love you more." I said.
"You're lucky I'm too tired to argue." She said, closing her eyes.
I kissed her forhead and closed my eyes, too, before drifting off to sleep.
