Chapter 14

Tw: crying, I don't know it's just a normal chapter ig no drama or anything

Karl POV:

I woke up at my usual time from my alarm clock and unwillingly dragged myself out of bed.
I slowly walked up to my closet and pulled out a random black T-shirt, a white and light purple flannel, and a light pair of jeans, I put everything on plus my usual accessories

just then I heard a knock on my door, who the hell is up this early? 
I open the door and find Alex on the verge of tears
"ALEX! WHAT HAPPENED?" I looked him in the eye trying to find every single reason that the shorter one will be so upset
"I couldn't sleep so I decided to read the book and WHY THE FUCK IS IT SO EMOTIONAL??" A few tears came rolling down his cheeks 
"I know bud, I've been there and I got the whole care package, you just keep reading" I closed the door on him before reaching inside my secret room that had a drawer full of chocolates and sweets in it just for these kinds of cases, I grab a package of m&m and go out opening the door, finding Alex reading on the couch as tears came strolling down his face

"Here ya go!' I smiled warmly at him while handing him the m&m "I'll go get ready and then I'll make something for breakfast

as I did my morning routine I noticed dark purple circles under my eyes, I knew we should've gone to sleep earlier.
I continued doing everything normally and for the first time in months, I used my concealer to cover up the bags under my eyes

I scanned my face in the mirror
Fake, fake, fake, fake, fake, FAKE

That word kept repeating itself as I looked at my reflections
I sighed and got out

Alex was in the living room, staring at the book that was laying closed on the table
"You alright?" I got closer to him
"I finished it. And it's fucking amazing. Thank you." He said not taking his eyes off the book
"NO problem, well, because you finished it already, do you have any other books that you want to read? Maybe I have them" I picked up the book
"Um- You probably don't have it but I guess it's worth a try... Gay club?" He gave me a twisted smile
"Surprisingly enough I do" I chuckle "I'll come back with it in a moment"
I walked to my room and placed the book back in its place looking for the new book Alex was interested in, I spotted the sparkly cover and took it out of the shelf, I also walked over to the closed and took out a blue turtle neck with a black vest and black tights for Alex to wear, thinking it'll look cute on him, but then I remember his wings...
I looked around my whole closet before I found a sage green box, that had the word 'Hybrid' written on it with a black marker

I took it out and started searching for shirts with holes for wings in them
I ended up finding a baggy navy blue hoodie that had a little duck in the corner and a black turtleneck to put under it, I don't know why but I was obsessed with the idea of Alex wearing turtlenecks even though I never saw him wearing one

I got out of the room and handed him the book and pile of clothes
"Karl, it's not healthy for the wings-" He stopped as he spotted the holes in the back "Why do you own this?"
"My parents gave it to me" I shrugged, not wanting to get any deeper into the conversation "I'll go wake up Nick, you can change in the bathroom"

I knocked on the door quietly 
"He ain't gonna hear you, he has meta rock playing in his ears at full volume" Alex passed by me looking weirdly at the turtleneck

I looked as he got into the bathroom and locked the door, then I walked into Nick's room
"Hey, sap! it's morning time, time to wake up!" I shook him slightly
He grunted as he slowly sat up and put off his earphones, and as soon as they got off his ears I understood what Alex meant
