That was the day the Black Hand tested the Titanfall mechs against Grimm, ozpin who's beacon academy is sitting not to far away didn't like the idea of a large fleet of warships during peacetimes between the kingdom's but the black hand had permission from the Vale council and they continued testing
But ozpin wanted to keep a eye on them as they knew of his extensive spy cameras hidden within the trees and they used a EMP bomb that deactivated the cameras for several days
Teams RWBY and JNPR were sent out to spy on the black hand, though they can be spotted from a mile away due to their bright colors
The black hand and their general really didn't care as ozpin was known for this and those teams could get a real chance of learning how to properly dispatch a Grimm without entering CQC with them

The Titanfall class mechs are controlled by the pilots who can be located on the upper chest area behind 7 inches of bullet proof and blast proof polycarbonate plastic
Much taller than a atlesian paladin and much more practical and maneuverable. Standing at 50 feet tall, a 60mm auto cannon as it primary weapon. And a tow missile on it shoulder armor, and a fire-and-forget missile located on the back of the mech
(The Fire-and-forget missiles are placed behind the second crew member pointing up, after locking on to a target the missile flies high into the sky and dives straight down to the roof of the target, highly effective against tanks and Atlesian paladins stolen or not)
The two teams saw the behemoth of the mech from a bush not to far away, weiss took out a scroll and took a photo but accidentally left the flash on. A bright light had compromised their spying but the black hand didn't even care, even some who were looking in their general direction
Weiss: what the? Do they not care if one's spying on them?
