Unfortunate news:

After struggling and battling cancer for 6 years the commander of the black hand and younger sibling of the general had died peacefully in her sleep inside of North American black hand HQ North Point

The United States of America fell into a civil war for the second time in 177 years, after the president dissolved many government agencies in the year 2037. As of now two entities are fighting for control, the US PRESIDENT and the former government agencies that are backed by US enemies

Notable causes:

Salem and her followers were either arrested and sent to a black hand mega prison or killed because they were too unstable to be tried, Salem's body and soul stuff was locked away into a alternate dimension created by the general's copy of Grimoire

Unfortunate news:

Atlas and the vale fell and collapsed after the resurrected cinder fall, who's body is current destroyed, and a army of Grimm attacked and killed the population of the vale, atlas managed to defend their territory but ultimately failed after their soldiers abandoned their positions and Atlesian knights and paladin's turned on their creators

The SDC was destroyed by unknown causes but suspected be destroyed by the Grimm invasion of atlas

Beacon headmaster ozpin and student Pyrrha niko's died during the battle of beacon which ultimately led to the fall of beacon and hundreds of students being killed

Notable causes:

After years of research and development, a cure for cancer of all types was found and released to the public, major medical institutions attempted to sell the cure for cancer at unreasonable prices, up to 20 million, but black hand intervention and other  governments forced the cost to be dropped to a mere 20 dollars

After two years of civil war, the US President side won the war and sentenced all leaders of the opposition to life in prison for treason and war crimes

A New Russian government was enacted forcing the current regime of the nation to fall into disarray leading to a presidential election leading to the New Russian Party or NPP to win the election of President and prime minister which declassified many documents contributing to the former political party.
