My First Day

At least 5 times longer than usual

Haliegh's POV
"Haliegh wake up and get ready."
"I'm up."
"Get ready."
*5 minutes later*
"Um Derek."
"Yeah Haliegh."
"Could you help me fasten my necklace?"
"Yeah of course."
He fastens it, then I grab my leather jacket and slip it on.
"Who or what do I need to worry about at school?"
"There's a kanima running loose around here and I'm pretty sure the person that shapeshifts into it goes to your school."
"Awesome a kanima. Isn't that the snake like thing with a tail," I say sarcastically.
"Yeah. Okay go to the car, we'll talk more there."
I walk out to the car and sit down in the front seat. Derek walks out a few minutes later and starts the car. He drives it out of the driveway and begins to drive towards the school. It's slightly hard to call Derek Dad yet, but that's what happens I guess.

We get to the school and he parks near the door.
"You ready for this?"
"No not really but I have to get an education so yeah.''
"Let's go."
We walk into the office and they hand Derek some papers to sign to confirm he is my dad/guardian.
"Here's your schedule and just ask someone to show you around," the lady at the front desk says.
I take the schedule and we walk out the door.
"I took your phone last night and programmed my number into it so call me if you need me, have a good day Haliegh."
"I'll try. Bye."
I walk down the hall well its more like clicking down the hall, when I hear two boys talking.
"Why was Derek here? And who is the new girl she is hot?"
"Stiles not the time, right now we have bigger problems."
"Yeah Scott you're right."
I decide now's my chance to get someone to show me around.
"Hi I was wondering if one of you would show me around," I say coming around the corner.
"I'll do it," the one with the buzz cut exclaims.
"Okay," I say grabbing his arm.
"So what's your name."
"Haliegh."
"Just Haliegh no last name. I'm Stiles Stilinski."
"Haliegh Krasikeva-Hale."
"So how do you know Derek."
"He's family."
"Really?"
"Yeah. By the way do you know Isaac Lahey?"
"Yeah he's over there."
"I want you both to show me around."
"Okay. Even though I hate him,"he says whispering the last part.
"I can hear you."
"Crap stupid supernatural hearing,"he says then throws his hand over his mouth.
"Isaac."
"Speak of the devil. Hey Haliegh Hale."
"Speak of the one that tried to kidnap me yesterday. Hey Isaac Lahey."
"Why are the two idiots over here?"
"Two?" I turn around and see another brown eyed boy standing next to Stiles.
"Who are you?"
"Scott McCall and you?"
"Haliegh Krasikeva-Hale."
"So how do you know Derek?"
"He's my family. Does my last name mean nothing?"
"Um."
"She could kill you with a look,"Isaac says.
"Okay who else is extremely terrified of her,"Stiles says.
"I could take her,"Scott says.
"Um Scott not a good idea considering the other Hale's being super strong,"Stiles says.
"I'm not going to fight you."
"But yet you punch me square in the face when we first met,"Isaac says.
"That was self defense."
Scott walks away, but Stiles stays staring at me.
"I don't think someone likes you very much, Haliegh,"Isaac says.
"Can we both still show you around?"
"Yeah I guess so."
"Ok this is your locker it's next to Allison's," Stiles says.
The bell rings and Isaac walks to a class. While Stiles pulls me into a different room.
"Class this is our new student," the teacher says then whispers, "What's your name?"
"Haliegh Hale."
"Haliegh Hale, please make her feel welcome."
I sit down beside a brown headed girl.
"Okay class today we will be talking about,"the teacher says and I begin to zone out because we learned this at my other school.
Thank goodness the bell rings before I die of boredom. I grab my stuff, and walk out the door with the brown haired girl.
"Hi I'm Allison and you should sit with me at lunch today. My friend Lydia might try to take your heels and your purse."
"I'll be prepared."
"Okay I'll save you a seat."
I walk to my locker with Allison.
"Hey Allison."
"Yeah Haliegh."
"Could you show me where Mr. Harris' classroom is?"
"Yeah actually my next class is right next to Harris'. In that class the boys get into so much trouble, so just watch,"she says smiling.
"I will." This should be hilarious.
She shows me to the chemistry room and then walks into the door next to it. I walk in and sit down at a table in the back by myself.
"Class start reading Chapter 14 of your chemistry books."
I take out my book and start reading it. Of course I did not understand any of it because at my old school we started from the back of the book and went backwards. So I raise my hand, Mr. Harris walks over to me and sits next to me.
"Are you new or have I just never seen you before?"
"I'm new and I've never learned or heard of any of this."
"Okay, give me a second. Mr. Stilinski, Mr. McCall what do you not get about silent studying. Mr. Boyd come back here and help our new student."
This Boyd guy walks back to where I'm sitting and sits down where Mr. Harris had just moved from.
"What don't you get?"
"Anything."
"Okay let's get started," he says before he starts explaining everything.
Halfway through him teaching the bell rings.
"So can I come over to finish helping you with this."
"Okay I'll see you then."
I walk out of the classroom and then towards my locker.
"Hey Alli."
"Hey Haliegh, love the nickname."
"What do you have now?"
"English."
"After this class is lunch, so I will see you then. And English is down that hall on the left, it's the first classroom.
"Alright bye Allison."
"Bye."
*Skip to lunch because this is almost 1,400 words*
I walk into the lunch room and get something to eat. Then, I look around for a few minutes looking for Allison.
"Haliegh over here," Allison says.
I walk over and sit down next to a strawberry blonde and across from Allison.
"Hi I'm Lydia, Allison told me all about you. This is Danny and that's Jackson. By the way you are now one of my best friends. Oh my gosh is that an original Chanel bag. Where did you get it."
"Yeah it is. My grandma is a hairdresser for some of the biggest models out there and this is how they pay her sometimes."
"That's so cool."
*Skip to end of the school day*
I grab my stuff and walk out the door.
Derek pulls up and I get in his car.
"How was your first day Haliegh Grace?"
"Awesome, my new friend Boyd is supposed to come over and finish teaching me about stuff in Chemistry."
"Good then you two can train together since he happens to be one of my betas. Have you seen him by the way I'm supposed to give him a ride?"
"I haven't seen him since Chemistry."
"Well damn. Hang on."
He pulls his phone out and dials a number quickly.
"Boyd, am I supposed to give you a ride or what?"
"I'm already at your house."
"Well never mind then,"he says hanging up.
"Alright Haliegh, there will be Erica, Isaac, Boyd, and you. I expect you to kick all their asses just because you're a Hale."
"Trust me, I punched Isaac in the face when I first got here and he fell over I think I can handle a chic. Boyd, I'm not so sure about."
