When Eddie had awoken, sluggishly trying to pry open his heavy eyelids, he felt something warm gripping his hand, slowly glancing over, he found a hair full of dark curls.
Slowly reaching over, he softly brushed the strands of hair from the face of his one and only brother, Alex Greystone.
"Al-ex" he said, voice raspy with sleep and slightly sore, Alex stirred, slowly blinking his eyes open before glancing up owlishly, "Eddie!" He cried out, pulling the male into a tight hug.
"I thought you were going to die!" He cried, Eddie softly rubbed his back, looking around, he pinched his eyebrows together in confusion, "Alex, where's Sophia, is she ok??" He asked.
"I'm fine Eddie" Sophia called out, looking over to her, he watched as she was led forward by a woman with short hair.
Sitting up, Eddie looked around, realizing he was laying on a couch, standing around him was a large group of people, this made his stomach quiver in fear of the events that happened with the group of men, but he tried to hide his fear, a little voice in the back of his head told him this was Sophia's group.
Rubbing the soreness around his neck, he glanced around nervously.
"So…how did you guy's find us?" He asked, "we heard a gunshot and followed the sound to check it out" a man with short black curly hair said, Eddie's eyebrows dipped and he looked over himself for a gun wound.
"I-I sh-ot one of t-he men who was hurting yo-o to sc-are them aw-ay" Alex stuttered out, quickly looking up, Eddie grabbed Alex's face in hands and kissed his forehead.
"I'm so sorry you had to go through that, I thought I told you to drive yourself and Sophia out of there if anything went south" he said, wrapping his arms around Alex and hugging him tightly.
"I co-uldn't leave y-ou to d-ie by the hands of th-ose men, I don't ev-en know h-how to dr-ive" Alex sobbed out, burying his face into Eddie's hair.
Looking up, Eddie gently sat Alex on the couch before forcing himself up, almost face planting into the wooden floor if it wasn't for a gruff man catching him and helping him stand.
"Thank you for taking care of my kid brother" Eddie said, holding his hand out towards the curly haired man, "we should be thanking you, you took care of our own and you even almost died protecting her" the man said, Eddie shook his head, "I'd never be able to live with myself if I let something happen to a little girl" he said.
The short haired woman who he guessed was her mother had hugged him, thanking him for taking care of her little girl.
"I'm Rick, this is my son Carl and my wife Lori" he said, Eddie glanced at them before his eyes caught the woman's baby bump, eyeing it in surprise.
"I'm Hershel, these are my daughters Beth and Maggie" an older man said, Eddie politely shook their hands.
"I'm Glenn, this is T-dog" a korean male said, Eddie had tried to shake their hands but they instead gave him a fist bump that he gladly excepted.
"I'm Sophia's mom Carol, the grumpy one who helped you stand is Daryl" the short haired woman said, Eddie again was caught in a hug from her, and got a simple nod from the good looking male known as Daryl.
"We've talked about it…and we would like you to join our group" Rick said, Eddie glanced over to Alex who was talking to Carl and Sophia, smiling, he nodded, "that would be nice" he said, Rick clapped him gently on that back.
{•°9 MONTHS LATER°•}
After 9 months with Rick's group Eddie had grown close, he learned that the baby was actually Rick's ex best friend, Shane, a crazy, mentally unstable and unhinged man.
Eddie had also learned everyone was carrying the virus, he learned that If he died without the bite he'd still become a walker.
Rick's group had also learned a lot about Eddie, they learned that Eddie was gay and had trust issues after being bullied.
They learned that Eddie was surprisingly a very good cook, even with low resources.
They also learned that he could play the guitar and that he was a very lively and playful person.
Glenn had learned the hard way not to underestimate the male when playing Uno and after a small incident the group had banned monopoly.
