The Last Hope

"Alexis can you hand me that screwdriver?" Dr. Julien asks as he is working on the falcon with Alexis and Lloyd.

"Of course. Are you certain you can fix the falcon?" Alexis asks as she hands Dr. Julien the screwdriver.

"You were asking my dear?" Dr. Julien asks as he finishes the repairs and the falcon takes off flying.

"It is like you ninja. You each play significant roles to a fighting force." Wu says as he comes over.

"Yeah. If you're actually needed for the plan." Alexis says as Lloyd looks at her.

"Feeling left out Alexis?" Lloyd asks.

"Somewhat. Though being part of some big plan has never really been my thing. Lone wolf thing I guess." Alexis says.

"But you're not a lone wolf. At least not anymore. Besides part of the prophecy or not I'm still glad you're here. I know you got my back no matter what." Lloyd says.

"And I always will." Alexis says as she smiles causing Lloyd to smile.

"But there is one thing that concerns me." Lloyd says.

"What's that?" Wu asks.

"What if I can't work? What if I can't do my part? What if I can't defeat my father?" Lloyd asks.

"What if there are no more what ifs? What if the final battle is almost upon us? What if when that time comes we will know the answer to what if we like it or not." Wu says.

"I know you don't want to face your father but there is no other choice." Nya says as she comes walking over with Misako.

"But perhaps there is. I used think it was inevitable but I found this." Misako says as she places a scroll on the table.

"You mean maybe Lloyd doesn't have to fight? This I gotta hear." Cole says as he and the other ninja come walking over.

"The scrolls say that when is bequeathed to it's rightful ruler the celestial clock will count down to the creation of an unspeakable weapon. The first sign that the battle between good and evil has begun." Misako says as she opens the scroll.

"Did you just say unspeakable weapon?" Kai asks.

"Uh I'm still stuck on what bequeathed means." Jay says as Alexis looks at him.

"Go on Misako. We're listening." Alexis says.

"There is nothing here that explains what would happen if the helmet of darkness is returned." Misako says.

"Interesting. Remove the helmet. The clock starts. Put it back the clock stops." Wu says.

"And the final battle never starts." Lloyd says.

"I got a plan. Boys if you will follow me I will explain." Misako says as Kai, Jay, Zane, and Cole follow her.

"What about me?" Alexis asks.

"I would like for you stay here with Lloyd. Help to make sure the final battle doesn't start yet until we're absolutely ready." Wu says as he places the end of his staff on Alexis's shoulder making her look at him.

"I don't need babysitting. I'm not a kid anymore." Lloyd says annoyedly.

"True Lloyd but Wu does have a point. We can't take any chances. Besides look at it this way. Least you're not the only one who has to sit out of the fun for now." Alexis says.

*Timeskip*

"How you holding up master?" Alexis asks as she is running in wolf form with Wu on her back as they make their way to the celestial clock.

"I'm fine. Hopefully the others are as well." Wu says as Alexis speeds up her pace.

"I think we're here." Alexis says as they arrive at the celestial clock.

"We are and here are the others." Wu says as the others arrive in Cole's drill.

"Wow. This clock is a mechanical master piece." Nya says as she, Misako, and the ninja get out of the drill and walk over to the clock.

"You're welcome to dismantle it once we've stopped." Misako says as she looks at Nya.

"There's only a couple minutes left!" Jay shouts as he points to the clock.

"Everyone look for the helmet's perch! It could be by anywhere!" Misako says as the group begin to look for the perch until the stone army shows up and takes the helmet from the group causing a fight for the helmet between Cole and the general of the army. The group then successfully get the helmet back in it's rightful spot as Misako noticed the perch and with Wu's help gets the helmet to the perch it time as the clock stops.

"It worked!" Lloyd shouts.

"Yes!" Alexis shouts happily.

"We did it!" Nya shouts as the group cheers before stopping as they hears horns and see the clock is moving again.

"The horns of destruction! We're too late!" Misako says sadly before the group then falls off the cliff while Nya is caught by the stone army.

"This is all my fault. I should of taken the shot!" Lloyd says as the group lands on the ground below.

"We're all at fault kid. That's just the way the cookie crumbles." Cole says as he tries to comfort Lloyd.

"Are you still making jokes? They have Nya and you're still making jokes!?" Jay asks angrily as he tackles Cole and tries to hit him.

"It was just a poor choice of words!" Cole shouts Alexis jumps and tackles Jay off Cole and snarls at them both.

"That's enough! Jay back off! We didn't know this would happen! Don't take it out on Cole." Alexis says angrily.

"Alexis they have Nya. I'm going back." Jay says as he goes to walk off.

"Oh no you're not." Alexis says as she gets in front of Jay making him stop.

"Move it Alexis." Jay says as Alexis refuses to budge only for him to get into a fighting stance causing her to growl lowly at him.

"Jay do you really want to fight me just to get back up there for Nya when you can get caught just as well along side her? I don't want to fight you but if I have to just to keep you from getting caught out of anger then I will." Alexis says as she gets into a fighting stance while growling.

"Enough! We have lost enough. We don't need to lose our focus." Wu says.

"Forget focus! Jay is right! We have to get my sister!" Kai says angrily.

"By the time we get back up there they'll be gone. We will get your sister but the clock has reached zero and the final battle could start at any moment. We must head back to the bounty to get prepared. So that next time you will not hesitate." Misako says as everyone looks at a saddened Lloyd.

"Come on Lloyd. Let's go home." Wu says as everyone reluctantly begins walking.
