Chapter 9

In the loneliness of the night

In the shadow of the day

Whose face is it..

The one in my dreams?

His evil eyes hold me prey

What fragrance is this...

The one in my breaths?

Is this the one before the death?

What secret is this...

That never disclose?

Why in my blood...

He brings all the throes?

What's asked in the questions...

Can't be found in what I feel

Whoever lives in my thoughts

Is still covered in veil

What kind of season is in this heart?

No daylight

No dewdrops

An indefinable art?

Who know what's in the stars

There's misfortune in the signs

There's autumn in the spring

There's a hole in my wings

The knocking...

Is it everlasting?

The sense of someone's presence...

Is he still staring?

Incognito,

Hither, thither, only smoke,

Where is he hiding? And is incognito

This is neither day nor night.

In darkness as well as in light,

At all times the heart dwells in fear,

These unspoken truths propose my heart to sear.

Standing at the crossroads,

Continuously hiding face from the shade,

Voices continue to echo; you must stand, watch and sway.

In the depths of the encircling shadows,

His rage is revealed by dark meadows.

In such cold, the sun might congeal.

In such heat, the ocean might boil.

Rage appears in his eyes;

this life is like a poison.

It's not a dream nor a secret

I know it's a voice filled with pain.

I stopped writing and stared at the last line. "I'm crazy", I thought and shook my head. I tossed my hair back that was coming on my face. I closed my diary and put it back into the drawer.

I don't know why I wrote that. There was no reason for me to be scared and every reason for me to be happy with all the loving people around me. And now, Steven. Two weeks had passed now in a blur. But in these few days, we had come close to each other. Not in the other way. We had become good friends, but the feeling was different whenever I was with him.
