"ʷᵉ ˢʰᵒᵘˡᵈ ᵇᵃᵏᵉ ˢᵒᵐᵉᵗʰⁱⁿᵍ," Rosemary looked up at Matt, who had his arm wrapped around the girls shoulder as the two were sat on her couch.
"Anything specific in mind?" He tilted his head, turning off his phone to fully look at the girl.
"A cake," She smiled. "I wanna decorate it all fancy and make it look pretty."
"Okay," He stood up from the couch with a smile, extending a hand for the girl.
The two walked around the kitchen and gathered various ingredients, occasionally bumping into each other and laughing it off.
Within the span of 5 minutes, everything was ready, including the two of them. The 19-year-olds stood closely as they took turns pouring in various ingredients, Matt offering to crack the eggs after Rosemary stated she hated the feeling of the yolk running down her hand.
The cake was placed in the oven and after cleaning the kitchen up, the pair returned to the couch, Matt extending his legs down the long portion while Mare sat at his right, his arm wrapped around her shoulder once again.
"So, I was thinking," Matt trailed off, looking down at the girl.
"Yes?" She raised her eyebrows.
"Well, we've hung out lots of times," He nodded, growing visibly nervous.
"Yes, we have," Mare agreed.
"Well... I was thinking."
"So you've said."
"We should go out on a date sometime," He quickly spilled out.
Rosemary's concerned face instantly turned to a smile, which seemed to have embarrassed Matt as he turned away to hide his face. Rosemary laughed as she turned his head back to her, noticing the pink tint on his cheeks.
"We don't have to--"
"We're going on a date," She nodded with a smile. "I just thought you were being very cute."
"Great," He instantly smiled out of relief. "Does Friday work?"
"Friday is perfect."

After the cake had been taken out of the oven and placed in the freezer to cool for an hour, Matt and Mare took the cake out to frost it. However, as their homemade buttercream began to lay on top of the cake, it started caving in at the middle, leaving a giant crumbling mess.
"Oh, god, what did we do wrong?" Mare exclaimed as she tried to hold the cake together with her hands, coating them in frosting.
"I dunno!" Matt shook his head, trying to piece it back together.
"This isn't a cake, it's a monstrosity," She sighed, moving her hands away.
"Is it good?" He wondered, taking a piece of the cake. "No, this is terrible."
