"Mare?" Leo sighed, rubbing his eyes as he looked to his right on the couch, seeing his best friend was still awake and now on her phone. 

"Go back to sleep," She sniffled, putting the phone on the table. 

"What happened?" He sat up straight. 

"Matt said we weren't meant to be anything and he doesn't want to be around me anymore," She sobbed into his arms. 

"Awe, Mare," Leo rubbed her hair. "He's just hurting, you know that, right? You know the phrase, 'hurt people hurt people'?"

"Just because it's understandable doesn't make it justifiable," Maggie piped up from the ground. "Don't worry about him, he's not your main priority, you are."

"He said he promised he trusted me," Mare cried harder. 

"Hey, don't cry," Leo rubbed her back. "Don't cry, Kendall Jenner wishes she was you."

"What?" Maggie, Mare, and Lily all chorused. 

"I dunno, but it got your mind off Matt, right?" Leo teased, earning a chuckle from Mare. 

"You don't need him, Mare," Lily nodded. "You're an amazing and sweet person with or without him, he doesn't change who you are."

"Exactly," Maggie agreed. "So screw him, and go to sleep. Tomorrow, I promise we'll do something with the four of us."
