You were so glad your street bike arrived on time. You missed it dearly during the move. It felt a little out of place riding it here seeing as how It was meant for the city. You had bought special tires for the weather here but the roads seemed fine. Not icy at all. So weird.
You felt like a fish out of water here.
At least you had Wendy to lean on. She had the decency not to overwhelm you on the first day even though you could tell she had so many questions.
You would need to make up for it tomorrow and answer some of them.
You make yourself dinner and fall asleep to some (your fav TV show).
Kyle
"Son of a bitch!"
It looks like the vamp kids had caught wind that Y/N liked vampires.
Mike Makowski was giving her hand a slobbery kiss at this very moment.
I fucking hope she has better taste in vampires than him.
Kyle always found it funny that the vamp kids talked behind his back about him not being 'cool enough' to be a vamp kid when secretly he really was one.
Stan saw it too and laughed his ass off.
"Damn dude, looks like you've got competition! You think she likes em real or fake?"
Stan was the only person outside of the family that knew his secret. He found out by accident at a sleepover they had in elementary school otherwise Kyle would have kept it a secret even from him.
Kyle wasn't too proud of his affliction. Stan had pointed out many times that girls found his fangs attractive. And, yes some girls liked them, but would a girl stick around if they knew what being a vampire day-to-day was actually like?
'Drinking blood' wasn't sexy or romantic. It was him rubbing the coagulation out of his blood bags so he could heat it up without getting globs stuck together.
It was making every family dinner awkward by sucking a raw piece of meat dry as his little brother eats mashed potatoes and talks about finger painting.
It was having to always wear a hat covering his hair to rein in his abilities.
It was being a dorky virgin because bloodlust and sex went hand in hand making it too dangerous.
It was having to wear heavy prescription glasses in the daylight when at night he didn't need them at all.
It really was just that. A curse.
...
"Might I add you are simply breathtaking, per say." Mike Makowski bowed.
You turn to Wendy with a look that screamed 'Help! Get me out of this!' But she didn't notice.
"Oh, uh, that's very sweet of you Mike."
"Please," he said, "call me vampir."
Oh God.
It was all you could do to keep from cringing.
"You are more than welcome to join us as we feed, per say," he held up a cup of what looked and smelled like Clamato juice.
"Oh, thank you for the offer," you say gently pushing the cup away. "I'll be sure to keep that in mind."
It was Nichole that came to your rescue.
"Okayyy it's girl time, sorry Mike, she's ours!" She told him as she dragged you away.
'You're welcome' she mouthed.
You turn to the girls, "Yeah, thank you guys for considering my interests but I think I just prefer Vampires in theory and not in person..."
"Just be glad you haven't met Eric Cartman yet." Bebe piped up, "He's worse than any vampire could be."
"Total asshole," Red added.
Wendy sighed, "One of our friends Heidi started dating Eric and now she's a bigot just like him. It's best to just stay away."
Poor Heidi.
You didn't even know this girl and you already felt sorry for her. Any friend of Wendy's was a good person.
The girls were starting to get bummed out so you switch to a lighter topic.
"Hey," you say casually leaning on the railing," who's that redhead that sits next to me in first period?"
Wendy's face lights up at the very mention of him like she has a lifetime of knowledge on this guy. Judging by the size of this town, she probably does.
"That's Kyle. Kyle Broflovski. "
Hmm.
" You know my ex, Stan I was talking about? That's his best friend! I could introduce you!"
Bebe shook her head, "I don't know Wendy, you're dating Tolkien now and I don't think Stan's over it yet, best to leave it up to Y/N."
Kyle
Ok, It's now or never. Y/N just left the girls heading to the vending machine.
Kyle took a deep breath and approached her.
She is so much more beautiful up close.
"Yes?" Y/N asked softly
"Oh! Hi! I'm the guy you sit next to in class, I just wanted to-"
Oh fuck.
He hadn't thought of any conversation starter prior. Even one vampire-related.
"To-let you know there's a quiz tomorrow."
Her brows furrowed in confusion.
Kyle silently cursed at himself.
Who the fuck says that as a greeting?
Her confusion quickly faded into a smile with gentle laughter.
Her laugh is so sweet.
"Thanks for the heads up, Kyle."
"What? How do you-"
"Know your name?" She nods toward the girls.
He wasn't sure if he should be thanking them or not. He was just hoping they didn't tell her anything else.
She had picked (your fav snack) out of the vending machine.
"Do you want some?"
He had to put on a poker face to keep from physically recoiling.
Real food made him sick. He could only digest blood. He occasionally brought a sandwich to school for show and then gave it to Stan when no one was looking.
For himself, he carried a big metal water bottle with a straw attachment on the top. The insulation kept the blood warm and the straw was black to conceal any color. Since it wasn't abnormal for other people at school to carry them it blended in seamlessly. He would sip on it throughout the day and they were none the wiser.
"Thanks but I already had lunch."
"Well, hopefully, I'll see you around then, Kyle."
Kyle.
The way she said his name made his heart beat faster.
Even after she had left he was still standing there unsure of what to do from there.
