Eternal

A dream.

That's where I know her from.

Kyle frantically leafed through the diary.

"What's going on?"

"That woman in your window, she's the one that appeared in my dreams when I was younger."

His hands shake when he finds what he's looking for.

"Right here!" He points to a description on the page along with a lengthy tale of the origins of his Estrie bloodline, "she's the one who cursed us!"

"But why is she lurking around here? Why would she come back now?"

A sensual female voice echoed from across the room.

"I never left."

Her hair was long, past her waist and her face was extremely pale yet eternally beautiful.

Kyle instinctively shielded Y/N with his body.

"It's you. From my dreams, you cursed the baby boy!"

She smiled which under the circumstances, came across as off-putting.

"You recognize me, good."

Kyle stood firmly, not showing any signs of fear, "What are you doing here?"

"I have always been here. Throughout all the lifetimes of your generations, I have always been watching."

"Why?"

"Why? The love of my life's family is my existence, my reason to live on. I never stopped loving him even after the curse, even when he never loved me in return."

Y/N spoke up, "Then why are you stalking me?"

Her eyes lit up with excitement.

"You have brought my efforts to fruition! You remember what I said to Azrael in your dreams, Kyle, do you not?"

"You said you wanted his son to know what it's like to be scorned since he did the same to you. You cursed our family in hopes that we would find acceptance regardless of being an Estrie."

"That is right."

Kyle cocked his head to the side, "But my parents love me? Are you saying they don't?"

"It is not the same. Your parents accept Kyle. They do not accept Estrie Kyle."

He looked down at his feet. He didn't want to acknowledge that he knew it was true, because it hurt too much to think about.

"Don't you see? For the first time in over a thousand years, the Estries in your bloodline have finally found true love, in Y/N! She embraces you completely and has gone to great lengths to protect you and your future."

Y/N looked up at him with loving eyes.

The woman stepped closer to Kyle with an open palm.

"I am here to free you. I know now that you will pass on tolerance to your future children and spare anyone else from knowing the hurt I felt."

"Free me? You mean-"

"Make you human."

Kyle's heart stopped, he had dreamt of being just like other guys for so long. But now that the possibility was staring him in the face, he had a strange sense of hesitation.

He looked at Y/N. Her expression was one of concern and longing. Because of her, he no longer felt the need to change any part of himself.

"No." He said pulling Y/N close, "I think I'd like to stay this way."

The Estrie clasped her hands together over her face tears streaming down. She spoke in a voice so small and between broken sobs she whispered.

"That is all I have ever wanted to hear."

As suddenly as she came, she had gone.

Kyle took your hand in his.

"I hope you aren't upset with my choice."

"Why would I?"

"Because it affects every aspect of our life together and our future kids' lives as well. I should have talked to you about it first. I'm sorry."

"Why did you choose to stay?"

He smiles wrapping his arms around you.

"Because I don't feel like an outcast when I'm with you. I used to want to be normal like everyone else, but the way you look at me, I feel like I'm already home. If this is how you like me, I don't want to be anyone else."

"I would love you even if you were human. Hell, for the most part, I did think you were human."

"Hmmm, maybe I just like being able to save money on gas."

"You're ridiculous!" You tease.

He laughed and kissed the top of your head.

You stand on your toes and play with his hair, "I want to be with you forever."

"Are you sure? Forever is a very long time."

You hold his hand, "Not long enough, but we can start with that."
