13 | Opposites Attract

*****HAYLEY POV*****
He pulled back and looked down.
I was still in shock.

"Sorry. I had to do that. If Im not your first kiss at least I can be your second." He laughed.
H-he liked me?

"Why'd... Why'd you do that?" I asked very slowly.

He shrugged and shook his head.
"Well.. I just wanted to know what you thought about it." He scratched his neck. I've honestly never seen him this nervous. Maybe he really did care what I thought about it. He hoped I liked it.

"Taylor?"
He turned towards me,
"Yeah?"

I leaned in and my lips met his again. It was short and brief but it made my stomach crunch up with millions of butterflies. I've never felt like this. Why was I so okay with Taylor kissing me but not James? Oh yeah. Because I like Taylor.

He smiled and looked away.
We stayed in silence for a while, looking at the sun go down.

"I've waiting a long time to do that." He admitted looking over at me for the first time in a long while.
I laughed and looked away.

"I'm serious Hayley. At first I thought I hated you, well not really hated but disliked. You were such an opposite of me. I didn't think we'd even be friends." He said

"And..?" I said. He laughed.
"Well I was wrong after all. I kept denying it but I couldn't help myself any longer. Not after I heard James kissed you. I wanted to have a chance with you before he took you away. At least a kiss." He said.

Wow. This is probably the softest Taylor has ever been. His soft shell is showing: for me.
How lucky am I huh?

"Oh." I said.
"Yeah... We should head back. I'll drop you off at your house, yeah?" He said.

I nodded getting up and helped him clean up.
We got in his car and drove off.

"Taylor?"
"Yes goldilocks?" He said not taking his eyes off of the road.

"What does this make us?"
"What do you mean?" He asked.

I bit my lip. He has to know what I'm talking about right? It just happened a couple minutes ago.

"Are we dating or something?" I asked.
He shrugged and kept looking at the road.

"Only if you want. I'm not going to force you into anything just because you kissed me." He said and I smiled.

"If that's your way of asking me to be your girlfriend then... Yes." I said laughing.

Taylor smiled widely and looked over at me. He had a special spark in his eye I've never seen before.

"I-ok." He said looking back at the road. A small smile tugging on the corners of his mouth. I sighed happily and slid down on my seat.

"Have a goodnight Hayles." Taylor said.
I nodded.

I blushed slightly as I hugged him quickly before walking into my house. Wow hayley way to go. Not even a kiss goodbye? Man I wanted to kiss him again.

I shrugged and headed upstairs to my room.

~~The Next Day~~

"Why so smily today Hayley?" Aaron said bumping my shoulder. I laughed.

"Nothing special. Just school is starting again and I get to see you guys more often."

Aaron smiled and nodded. "Ah I see. Anything else on the agenda?"

I tapped my finger on my chin. Should I tell him? He is one of my best friends... He can wait. I didn't really know whether bad-boy-taylor wanted anyone to know he was dating mrs.goodietooshoos.
"Nah." I said.
"Alright well see you after school." Aaron said as he walked away and found his girlfriend. I smiled. I wasn't bothered by cute cuddly couples anymore. Because I was one. I wanted that with Taylor. Hopefully.

-- after school.

I got a text and looked down.

T: hey hayles. Guess who can't drive you home today?
Me: santa?
T: NOPE. Me. Guess where I'm at?
Me: hmmmm. You're doing drugs aren't you?
T: no! Why would you think that? Anyways I skipped school today. Wasn't feeling too well. I'm in our place right now.

I looked down and furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. Our place? Should I know what that is? Oh god I should know should I? I mean it's OUR place! I'm just gonna ask dammit.

Me: our?
T: Mhmm. Tree. You know Hbomb.
I laughed and replied with an "ok I'll be there asap."

I guess it was our place now.
It was even more special now.

I rode my bike towards the tree. I never really even knew what kind of tree it was, I just loved it.

I walked up the hill to find leaning back on the grass, looking up at the sky. I smiled and walked over. I saw smoke and frowned.

"Stop that." I said hovering over him. He smiled widely and stood up. But yet he didn't take his cig out of his mouth.

"Sorry." He frowned and looked down at his cig but hugged me.

"This is probably why you're not feeling well." I said tapping the cigarette in his mouth.

He chuckled as we sat down and leaned against the tree; it giving us shade.

"Nah. It's actually Cuz I haven't had one in a week."
"Then why not just stop already? You've done it for a week! You can do it for two cant you?" I said, hope in my voice that he would stop doing this deadly thing. He smiled, put the cig out and wrapped an arm around me.

"I dunno. Maybe. I'll do it for you." He smiled. I smiled back as he leaned in and our lips met. It was brief but honestly it was gross. I could taste the nicotine in his mouth but I ignored it. I was dating him.

"You tasted like cigarettes." I scrunched up my nose. He smiled and poked my nose.

"Sorry goldilocks." He said.
I smiled, "it's ok t, just try to stop yeah?"
"Yeah."

We stayed like this for a while and just looked at the fluffy clouds. A few leaves were falling from the tree already. I wish mom was here. But maybe she's finally happy wherever she is. Mississippi.

"What's on your mind?" Taylor asked as i shrugged.
"Family. Dads work is giving him less hours of work so that means less money." I sighed and put my head in my hands.
"I don't know what I'm gonna do. My work pays off but not enough."

Taylor frowned.
"I could give you money." He said with hope in his eyes. He knew I wouldn't except it. He's right I won't.

"No. Taylor I won't except money from you. Ok?" I said slowly to get it through his skull.

He laughed slightly, "ok ok. But come to my concert tomorrow?" He asked smiling with his puppy eyes.

I nodded, "yes sir." He smiled.

"K. Cmon we better get you home." He said literally hopping off towards his car.

Ok let's cut to the chase here: Im having a writers block so for now I hope you don't mind me giving you this fill in chapter thingie :) I just want to update more often since its summer and us fanfic readers don't have much to do other than read stuff like this that im making So I understand the frustration in waiting 😁
