****HAYLEYS POV****
" None of it looks right..." I said looking around the dress shop. Lynn, Jenna, Jack and Jeremy had come along with me for this. Jeremy had his hands full with whatever clothing I picked out and put on him.

"Well pick something! Is it like a really fancy ball?" Jack asked looking around, feeling uncomfortable.
I nodded. It's been about two weeks since I last saw taylor. My ankle was alright now, I was walking and the last few doctor visits to Taylor's mansion, he wasn't there. I figured he was busy but I couldn't help but feel bad; I felt as if he was avoiding me. But how could he? He wouldn't right after he asked the person being avoided out on a ball.

"Hayles!" I heard Jenna behind me.
I turned around as I saw her pull out a dress. It was good, good enough for a ball and not to put me in debt.

"Hm... I think I'll try that on." I said grabbing it.
"It'll look great hayles, especially on someone like you!" Jenna smiled.
"You look great in everything. Let me tell you if Taylor doesn't tap that fine ass of yours, I will." Lynn said.
Everyone laughed as I blushed with all the compliments.

"shush! Nobody is tapping anybody!" I said giggling, walking into the fitting rooms.
I sighed and slipped out of my vans and black skinny jeans, pulling my tank top over my head. I can't imagine what pain it'll be to not wear vans or skinny jeans for a whole day. Instead I'll have to wear this stupid dress, but at least Taylor won't sue me this way.

I put my leg into the dress pulling it up to me. It was strapless. Nice looking, short. (see Image at top)

This was the one... Well the one I could afford.. Kind of.
I walked out with the dress smiling to myself.

"Is that the dress or what?!" Jenna said smiling, knowing she picked the right one for me. I nodded, "Yep... Here go my savings."
We all laughed.

Jeremy took the dress from me and walked to the cash register,
"Jerm you forget.. I need gloves!"
"I'll take care of it. Cmon Hayles, I'll help you pay the dress."

I almost ran to him and cried. I really needed this. I know it sounds pathetic. But I really needed the money for this dress. I didn't want to get sued! I guess taylor was trying to threaten me in some idiotic way to get me to go out with him.

After we purchased the dress and got into Jeremy's truck, we went to our usual hang out on the forests.

"It was quite an adventure when we went to the waterfall wasn't it?" Jack smirked.
"Indeed! I'd do it over again!" Lynn cheered as she pretending to drink champagne but really was drinking a caprissun with a straw.

Jeremy was munching on some Doritos, "I beg hayley wouldn't want to do that over again! How's your ankle now?"
We all laughed as i answered, "good. It's a good thing the dance wasn't until tomorrow. You try to dance with a broken ankle!" I exclaimed.

Jenna raised her eyebrow, "why did you agree to go with the douchebag anyways?" She asked me.
I shrugged and stole some of Jeremy's Doritos, popping them into my mouth,
"I dunno. He's been a bit nicer these days actually."
Jenna smirked at me, "Ooo.. Someone has a crush on my Hayles then?"
"He better not! I don't like that guy for hayley. He's too flirty and disrespectful." Jeremy stepped in with his big brother voice.

"You guys! He doesn't like me." I said.
Jenna scoffed as I rolled my eyes and smiled to myself a bit. Taylor was very handsome, but I wasnt very pretty. I doubt he liked me but its nice to know people think he'd even think about liking me. I've never even had a real boyfriend. I've had fake ones. Hell I dated Alex in 6th grade! It was hilarious if you ask me. Ah... Young love.

I finally went home and got some rest...

----------------
*the next day-balldance day*

I woke up, wiped my slob off my face and got some breakfast.
I sat around just watching tv and playing video games online with jeremy to try and calm my nerves. I don't understand why I was even so nervous. It's only taylor; a boy which I really despise. Maybe it was just because I was worried he'd sue me if I didn't do well at the ball? I can't dance..

My phone lit up as I wiped my mouth from my smoothie... gee Im quite a slob.

I picked it up and saw it was a text from taylor.

Taylor: ready for tonight? :)
Me: as ready as I'll ever be.
Taylor: what's that supposed to mean? :( you don't want to spend a night with me?! Thought we had a good day the day I asked you.
Me: we did. But.. Idk. Look Im not sure why you me asked me to go
Taylor: well I just moved here and I needed a date. You're the only girl I know.

I was taken aback by his response and was actually a little offended. But I pushed my feelings back and replied.

Me: whatever. When do you want me to go over?
Taylor: I'll pick you up! 7pm ;)

I sighed and put my phone down, looked at the clock on the wall and got up like there was no tomorrow.
It was 6. Getting my hair done and fitting into that dead wasn't exactly a piece of cake.

I did some eyeliner, a bit of my eyebrows, put some glossy lipstick on and finished it off with mascara. I didn't want to over do it and look like a whore.
I got my hair up into a bun with a few strands of hair coming down... Man I felt like I was going to prom.

I slipped on the dress and shoes, looking myself in the mirror. It was decent enough.
I looked down at my phone, texting jeremy until it turned 7. As if right on point, the doorbell rang. I jumped, a little startled and grabbed my small purse, putting my phone in it.

'You can do this Hayles, you can do this' I told myself as I took one huge breath and opened the door.

There stood taylor. Handsome as ever with his hair trimmed nicely, a little gel added to it.
He smiled at me.

"Hey... You look great!" He commented looking me up and down. I blushed slightly and push my shyness back.

"You don't look so bad yourself." I cocked an eyebrow up in challenge. He smirked, "so bad?" He asked.
"Yup" I said popping the 'p'

"Whatever. Cmon, goldilocks or we'll be late."
He smirked as i rolled my eyes, following him into the Ferrari.
We had small talk until we reached his giant mansion.

Everything seemed to be in full swing when we got there. There were other rich boys with rich hot dates. There were elderly rich people with their long-time partners, covered in jewelry. It seemed nice, but too fancy for my taste.

"Shall we?" Taylor extended his arm towards me for me to take. I nodded and took a hold of his arm as we walked into the mansion.
We were greeted right away by everyone.
"Ah! Well if it isn't Mr.York! My how much you've grown!"
"Taylor! The man! Tell your father hi for me would you? He hasn't come down stairs yet."
"Taylor! My oh my. Nice ball! Who's your date?"

Those were a few of the questions being bombarded towards us. It was weird being the center of attention, and I just realized how important Taylor must really be. He wasn't just some rich kid, his father must be into big business, being known by everyone. York. Seemed like a name you'd be honored to have. Williams. Sounds like a name everyone has.

"Sorry about everyone." Taylor whispered to me as we walked towards the backyard.
I shrugged, "its no problem. sorry I'm not very sociable."
He smirked, "that's ok, I'm not sociable either. Except with you."
I smiled and poker his belly. He jumped slightly ; I smirked and continued the action, him twisting around and laughing as I tickled him.

We made it outside when suddenly everyone started clapping. Taylor turned around and greater his parents who were coming out from the door.

"Hello mum, father." He said, "this is hayley, my date."

Her mother smiled, "oh yes! Hayley, the one who broke her ankle at our waterfall with her friends is it?" She asked me. I looked down a bit embarrassed for trespassing.
"Erm... Yeah." I smiled politely.

"Very nice to meet you darling!" She said extending her hand. I took it gladly and gave it a gentle shook.
"Yes very nice indeed." Mr.York said fixing his glasses and shaking my hand.
