Crystal's POV

"M'Lady, the Queen has visitors and will not see to them. She has sent me to fetch you to take care of them," my sister's servant and my friend, Liza, told me. I stood up, closing my book.

"Oh, fun. Who is it now? A comedian from Earth?" I asked, sarcastically.

"Better. We have a pair of powered people, and they lost their powers. They're Avengers. They'd like permission to access the Terrigen Mists, but the Queen will not see them." I rolled my eyes.

"No, of course she won't. Alright, lead the way." Turning the corner, I saw two strangers talking to each other nervously in another language. One, a young man with white-blonde hair and icy blue eyes, the other a dark haired young woman with the same eyes. Their eyes turned to me.

"And you are the Queen?" The man asked in a thick accent, which almost made me giggle a little. I cleared my throat to snap myself out of it. He is gorgeous!

"Princess, actually. Medusa's sister. My name is Crystal," I said. "And you are?"

"Wanda," the woman said in the same accent, "Wanda Maximoff."

"I'm Pietro Maximoff." Crap. He's married. "My sister and I would like to ask for your permission to enter the Terrigen Mists. Rumor has it, they can being back powers or enhance people." Sister? Oh thank the heavens.

"The rumors are true," I said, wanting so badly to go up and kiss Pietro, but restraining myself since you know. Just met him. Like, now. "You have powers?"

"Had," Wanda said, "and we wish to again." Pietro was staring at me with his blue eyes, and when his sister noticed, she nudged him with her shoulder.

"And you may," I said.

"Really?" Pietro raised his eyebrows, "And your sister would not mind?"

"I don't care if she minds, you're nice, and you're hot-I mean, you're respectful of the royals, and..." I blushed. "I'm sorry, I'm a really awkward person. Like, really awkward. You're not hot, I mean, you are, but I didn't mean to say it out loud and....I should probably stop talking."

"No, don't," Pietro said with a grin, and Wanda elbowed him again. I giggled a little and he winked at me, making my heart flutter.

"Okay, let's go to the Mists, then," I said, and I couldn't stop smiling.

Later

"Here we are," I said, quietly for no real reason, "The Terrigen Mists. This stuff is amazing. It can enhance beings and turn them Inhuman, like I am. They can heal, enhance powers, and bring them back." The Maximoffs looked at the swirling magic wisps of the Mists, awestruck by the beauty of it. I always thought it looked like an oversized will-o-the-wisp. Pietro reached his hand out to touch the Mists, and Wanda swatted his hand away.

"Pietro," she said warningly.

"No, it's fine. Go ahead," I said, "only one way it can work, you've gotta go in the Mists anyways. So...how did you lose your powers?"

"I died," Wanda said simply. I nodded, weirded-put but acting otherwise. "Somebody shoved hundreds of dead peoples' consciousnesses into my mind and I died resisting it. Yes, she killed my thoughts, brain activity. My heart and lungs were barely working anymore. They thought it was over for me, but they gave me this." She held up a yellow stone necklace and I gasped a little.

"Is that what I think it is?" I asked, recognizing it from anywhere.

"My boyfriend's," she muttered, looking at the stone sadly, and Pietro looked away. He couldn't see his sister like this, I could tell.

"The Mind Gem," I said, "One of the Infinity Stones. You two had better go through the Mists and leave. I hate to say this but with that stone, you are not welcome here."

"What? Why?" Pietro asked, very confused, "It's just her boyfriend's life source."

"It's much, much more than that," I said briskly. "I'm sorry. I, uh, I like you, but you have to go really soon." Pietro and Wanda stepped into the Mists, and after a few seconds, Wanda's eyes glowed a bright red.

"Then you don't know about this stone I showed you," she said, and I forgot what she was even talking about. "Thank you. We have to go. Pietro?" He suddenly disappeared and reappeared, leaving only traces of color as he moved, then stopping.

"Super speed," I said, "Nice."

"You don't know the half of it," Pietro said, winking. "Anyways, we should be going now. We have to give something back to Wanda's boyfriend."

"Oh, so soon? I mean, alright. See you around...what do they call you?" I said.

"Quicksilver," he said, and he picked up his sister and sped away.

"Quicksilver," I muttered with a smile, and I walked away daydreaming.

A/N: No Visions were hurt in the making of this chapter. See? Wanda won't die, not now. Couldn't resist a cliffhanger the last chapter.
