Pietro's POV

My beautiful girlfriend and her sister suddenly stopped bickering in the other room. I could not hear what had happened, who said what, why they stopped, but I heard Crystal say something and everything was suddenly silent.

Had she finally told her sister off? Told her she hated her and how they treated each other? Hated being one of Medusa's mere puppets do do her bidding? No. Something tells me she didn't-couldn't-do that. What had she said, then?

I sighed, looking down to the ground boredly. I wish I were in the conversation. Time is moving sosososooooo slow right now.

Then suddenly the yelling continued, and I could make out a few words:

"Sh, Something something Pietro something blah blah know"

"Something blah blah fire blah ants something something" fire ants? Is this about the bugs they kept finding in the throne room that Medusa blamed on me for tracking last time I saw her?

"You can't fire me!" Oh geez. Never mind.

"Until further notice something something something blah blah blah." More silence. My voice rose.

"Sorry about the fire ants, Medusa, it was probably my fault but it was unintentional. No need to fire Crystal from her duties, but maybe you could try to be less strict-"

"Pietro?" Crystal said, her voice cracking, and she turned the corner and looked me in the eye.

"Yes, my love?" I looked up at her with hopeful eyes, and Crystal bit her lip.

"Honey, this isn't about the fire ants. Please don't eavesdrop-"

"I'm sorry," I said, angrily, "But you and your sister are literally in the next room and are screaming your heads of at each other. I can make out a few things you're saying. If this isn't about the ants, why did Medusa say fire ants?"

"She didn't say...Pietro, please. I'm sorry, but we just need to talk alone right now." She same out and wrapped her arms around my neck, kissing me, and letting go. "It's okay. Just let us talk."

"Okay," I said, relaxing a little. "I love you."

"I love you too," she said, walking back into the other room, and the bickering continued. I sighed. It's a wonderful life, isn't it? I sit back down in the couch and switched on the tv to distract myself, keeping it quiet so Medusa wouldn't hold that against me either. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful...

Clint's POV

The eyes remained on me, glued harshly.

"An anonymous source told us we could find him in Alaska. Now, as much as we want to believe this person, he is only a commoner and we cannot risk any chances. Who knows-maybe he was working with HYDRA? Maybe it's a trap. We don't want to force any of you to go on this mission, but one thing is certain-not everyone is going. A maximum of five us us, I think...we'd prefer at least two fliers,at least lone person with target practice....we'd prefer no Hulk, and Wanda, if you're up to it, your magic might come in handy. Basically all of you, except for Bruce, will come in use for this mission...but remember, there are risks and not one person here is invincible." Cap looked at all of us. "I dion't expect everyone to want to come, though. We leave as soon as we have our team assembled."

"I do," I said, getting up. "I want to take care of this guy for good, make sure he comes nowhere near...them."

"Clint, maybe that's not the best idea," Wanda said, "he knows about them, he might come after them."

"Then you stay and watch over the. I need to do this for my family. You need to stay to look for Pietro. This will work out just fine, in my opinion." Wanda bit her lip. "Please, Wanda? You know I have to do this. You KNOW I do. You'd understand more than anyone-"

"I do," she said, "just...be careful, Clint, come back home to us. Promise me you'll come back home."

"Hey, kid, don't worry, I can take care of myself." I kissed her forehead and looked at her. "You'll be twenty-one in a week, won't you?" She nodded. "Find your brother. Spend your birthday together, get a drink, I won't yell at you this time. When you find Pietro, tell him I love you both." She nodded, still biting her lip.

"Who else is in?" Steve asked with a sigh, looking around the room and rubbing his neck. My phone buzzed and a ringtone went off: "Like a black widow, baby!" I picked up the phone.

"Hey, Nat," I said.

"Hey. Laura, the kids, and I are going back to the farm now. How's the meeting going?"

"Uh...fine, I guess...maybe not so great."

"Oh, I'm sorry. Is Steve ranting on about not building anymore killer robots or no smiling for the media or playing it cool and all that crap? I swear if he keeps it up, he's gonna start a civil war with Tony-"
I cleared my throat.

"Nat, you're on speaker." She was silent for five seconds.

"I can call back," she said.

"No, no, we were just asking everyone if they're up for a mission," Tony said loudly, so she could hear. "You in? It sounds pretty freakin dangerous."

"Ooh, that sounds like lot a of fun. You going, Clint-er-oo?"

"Yeah. Nobody else for sure is going, though..."

"I am, unless four more people join ASAP," Steve said.

"I'll go," Rhodey said. "The suit can't be ripped in half as easily as, you know, human flesh. And I got all sorts of weapons and missiles, Tony stocked it up like crazy-"

"I'm afraid I can't go on this fun mission. Bruce and I are staying for research on the Chitauri technology we got off of the Soulthieves a few weeks ago," Tony said. We all looked at him, and I'm sure even Nat was glaring on the other line.
"What?"

"Don't make a Soultron or whatever," Sam said, "That wouldn't be okay."

"I couldn't even imagine," Wanda said.

"Don't give him any ideas," Steve said, and Tony gave him a look.

"Maybe we will have to have a civil war after this conversation," he said, and Steve rolled his eyes.

"Anyways, you interested, Nat? It's a guy who can tear people and other things in half with his hands," I said.

"You know what? I think I'll pass on this one. It sounds like a job for people in suits and super soldiers, and someone who can hit from a distance. Is Wanda going?"

"I'm staying," she said.

"Yeah, I'm not going either. I can honestly tell you, I'm scared. He does this for game? For fun?"

"Yup," Steve said.

"Gross. That's awful. I gotta go, but do me a favor and kill this guy for me, 'kay?"

"Will do," I said, "Bye Nat.." I hung up the phone and sighed. "Well, that was amusing."

"Phsh, Civil War," Tony muttered.

"Where's Thor?" I asked, frowning and looking around. "And Vision?"

"Thor and Vision left a few minutes after they arrived...target practice, was it?" Rhodey said, and Steve nodded.

"Thor went to train Vision, help him with some fighting skills. We haven't seen them since, but I'm sure they're fine."

"Agreed," Bruce said.

"Okay, so our team so far is me, Rhodey, and Clint," Steve said. "Wanda, ! bruce, Natasha. And Tony for sure aren't coming. Sam?"

"Hello no," he said, "Avenging is your thing, I mean, I'm an Avenger, but all I got right now are a pair of broken metal wings. Remember? They broke and Tony hasn't fixed them for me yet."

"Oops," Tony said wit a shrug, "Sorry, people make mistakes, okay?" Thor and Vison landed on the balcony outside and came into the room.

"I'm in, and so is Thor," Vision said. "I had Friday record everything for me,we're in on the Splitsides mission."

"Excellent," Steve said, ."Great. Suit up, and Avengers..a-"
