A Breach

Stephen looks at Professor X as Y/N looks down at his feet. 

"What truth?"

"That's not how our Strange died. Our Strange did not die defeating Thanos. We were at war. While the rest of us banded together to try to stop Thanos, Stephen, as always, chose to go it alone."

"He turned to the Darkhold. Began dreamwalking. In hopes that our salvation might lie in the Multiverse."

"And guess what? It didn't. But he kept doing it anyway," Sue says.

"One day, you called us all together, to tell us that you'd been dreamwalking. That, in your words, 'things had gotten out of hand.' You never gave any details of what happened only that you triggered an incursion. You, our friend, had caused the annihilation of another universe."

Stephen looks at Y/N who glares at him.

"Everyone in that reality died. Everyone, including Y/N's wife Scarlett and their kids Cosmo and Rose."

"Stephen renounced the Darkhold. He even helped us find the Book of Vishanti. A weapon we did use to kill him, to defeat Thanos. One final threat remained however."

The Illuminati, including 838 Strange were on a planet, Thanos dead behind them. Stephen rested on his knees, ready to accept his fate.

"I shall miss you, my friend."

"This is for Scarlett."

Iron-Man, raised his hands using every ounce of power in his thrusters to kill Stephen and avenge his wife and kids.

"Did you tell Christine?"

"Yes."

"That statue...what about the statue? You built a statue."

"The world needs heroes. We made the difficult choice because we knew what our Strange was capable of. Or perhaps, every Doctor Strange is capable of," Matt says.

"The building's been breached."

"No shit, genius."

"Status report, all sentries."

"She's headed for the child."

"Watch him, we'll vote when we return."

Majority of the Illuminati, excluding Charles, Y/N and Mordo leave to go handle Wanda. 

"Stephen, should you manage to escape this chamber, you must help Y/N guide America Chavez."

"What the hell are you saying?"

"Save the girl and get to the Book of Vishanti."

"The book is here, you built a way point. Prove to us you're different than the other Stephens."

With that, Y/N and Charles leave to join the others. Meanwhile, Christine and Y/N are trying to get the girls out. He turns to Christine.

"Get them out, I'll stall her."

"No you're not!"

He looks at Nat with a sad look.

"Nat..."

"I'm not losing you again."

He smiles sadly, putting his hand against the glass. Nat does the same as she begins to tear up before the two share words, that have been shared between all their variants. 

"When the clock strikes midnight..."

"Our love story ends..."

He runs off to help as Christine tries to break the girls out. Iron-Man lands down in front of the Illuminati, his mask moving up to reveal his face.

"You!"

"We haven't met before. Look Wanda, you're possessing an innocent woman. Do the right thing, let her go and stop this madness."

"Do you have kids Brock?"

"Yes, but they died along with my wife."

"Then you can join them."

"Black Bolt can destroy you with one whisper from his mouth."

She tilts her head.

"What mouth?"

They look at Black Bolt to see his mouth is gone, before his head explodes. She crushes Y/N's suit against him, impaling him before killing Matt by using his baton to beat him to death. 

She then kills Sue by containing her powers inside her which kills her. Wanda starts to walk forward but something hits her making her turn around to see Midnight.

"You!"

"Yeah me!"

The two engage in a fight, Midnight deflecting her powers using shields he makes. Some fire from the death of Sue touches him and he screams in pain.

Wanda makes the fire move closer, Midnight disappearing into Y/N. She stands over him as he tries to catch his breath.

"All of this is because of you, Y/N. You showed me that the Multiverse is real and I can be with my children again. Don't worry, I won't hurt Nat or Yelena unless they get in my way."

She picks up a random piece of metal before stabbing it into his stomach, making him cough up blood.

"As for America-"

"You stay away from her you bitch."

Wanda smirks, pushing it further into him as his eyes roll back into his head and he chokes on his own blood. 

Meanwhile, Stephen, America, Christine, Nat and Yelena are running through the tunnels to find the book of Vishanti as a limping Wanda follows after she killed Charles and Y/N. 

They all jump into the gap junction, the space between universes. Only for the now recovered Wanda to follow. 

"Alright book give me what I need."

Wanda grabs America and knocks the book away from Stephen, before sending him and the women to a different universe and taking America to Earth 616 on a mountain top. 

Meanwhile back inside the Illuminati's building, death and destruction lay still, a mass grave of what was once an established building and team torn apart because of their own ignorance that all variants of Wanda are equal. 

Suddenly, Y/N sits up gasping for air as he holds his chest and starts to take deep breaths as he looks around.

"Took you long enough."

"Well I needed to recover too."

Y/N rolls his eyes and stands up as he looks around. 

"Well let's see if we can find anything to finally build a machine that allows us to travel the Multiverse."

He starts to run around, picking up random things as he starts to get to work.

"Hold on girls, I'm coming..."
