Authors Note: Guys I would like to leave a warning here, this chapter has mentions/slight details to SA. It's not detailed or anything and I'll mark when it's coming up later on but I just wanted to warn everyone before they read further!
Artemis sat in a chair beside the makeshift bed in the med-hut. She hadn't left said chair for a few hours. It felt like it was her responsibility to watch over the girl, being the only other one there. Artemis had only a few minutes before she was supposed to meet Thomas and Minho in the woods so that they could go back into the maze and check out the dead griever. After that she and Thomas were doomed to the pit for the night and they'd start their job as runners the next morning. Artemis felt exhausted, her entire body heavy. Which was way she waited as long as possible before she stood up and started walking towards the door. "Jeff! Keep an eye on her. If anything happens to her, a griever won't be the only thing I kill here."
Artemis walked towards where she was meant to meet the boys, her entire body begging her to turn around and go to bed. Her senses were dulled down because of her exhaustion, not to mention all the unanswered questions. Artemis didn't realize someone was following her until a hand was pushed over her mouth and she was being pulled towards the closest hut. Chuck had called it the map room. Artemis tried to squirm and fight against whoever had a hold on her, trying to scream against their hand.
**TW: SA Scene, not extremely detailed but there is some things mentioned**
"Aww come on sweetie...don't fight me." Artemis felt her breath catch in her throat at the sound of Mason's voice in her ear. He threw her towards the ground as he turned around and barricaded the door. He turned back around with a dagger in hand. "Scream and I'll cut your throat, you understand me?" Artemis could only whimper in fear as he grabbed her by the wrist and yanked her up.
"You're so beautiful...you're probably dying for this." The boy cooed in her ear, Artemis tried to fight back the best she could. But the moment she almost had the upper hand Mason brought the blade down on her forearm, crimson blood forming in a line. "If you keep fighting it's only going to get harder.."
Artemis let out a silent sob as he took her shirt off, the girl couldn't move. Couldn't scream, could barely breathe. She closed her eyes and tried to block everything out as Mason kept whispering despicable, horrifying things to her.
A While Later
**no more details, just the pain and angst of the aftermath**Artemis watched as the wooden door shut in front of her, her body shaking on the floor. Everything hurt worse than it did early, her face stained with salty tears. Her eyes trailed down to her arm. Artemis let out a sob at the sight, shakily standing to her legs. The red dripped from her arm and onto the floor. She slowly grabbed at her clothes, pulling them on desperately. Her short sleeve shirt made her feel exposed, showing her arms to the entire glade. She desperately looked around, grabbing the button up flannel laying in the corner of the hut. More tears and more sobs left Artemis with every move she made.
Artemis crept out of the map room, her entire body continuing to violently shake. Every noise made her jump as she snuck herself back into the Med-Hut. There wasn't a single soul in sight other than the unconscious girl in front of her. Finally Artemis broke down completely, hiding her sobs by smothering them in the shirt of the female in front of her. Artemis just cried until she couldn't anymore. Finally she was all out of tears and she decided to clean herself up before someone found her. She looked down at her arm as she dabbed at the blood.
'Why me?'
