The day after the kiss

HM and KS enter together holding hands. Santu looks at them and then their hands and was about to say something when KS notices and leaves HM's hand to move forward.
KS: Jai hind santu aaj itni jaldi aa gayi?
SS: Jai hind KM Jai hind MS. Oh to aapko laga ki andar koi nahi hoga isliye.
Pointing at their hands.
HM: Jai hind SS
And quickly moves to her cabin.
They both are feeling euphoric, they wish to stay in each other's arms all day and never have to worry about anything. But duty calls.
They are sitting on their respective desks looking at each other and reminiscing about last night.
They slept holding each other. That was the most peaceful sleep they ever had. And the morning, it was the best part of it all.

Flashback
HM wakes up first, she is too happy. She feels like it was all dream but when she senses KS near her, holding her, sleeping like a baby, all those feelings surround her. It all really happened. The first kiss, it really happened. She looks at KS, "isse achhi subah kya Ho sakti hai?" She woke up early. She stays there for more than an hour admiring her sleeping beauty. KS slowly opens her eyes and sees HM looking at her lovingly. She smiles. This, this is what she wants every morning. This face and nothing else matters. She snuggles into her and HM holds her.
HM: Good morning.
KS: The best morning.
HM smiles. She kisses KS on both cheeks. KS returns the favour.
KS: aapka dimple ek din katl kr dega humara.
HM: aur aapki ye aankhein humara.
They look into each other's eyes.
KS: hume aise hi rehna hai, yahin, kahin nahi jana.
HM: kash. Lekin jana to pdega. Chaliye uthiye. Aapki fav idli khake jayenge.
HM almost gets up when KS pulls her and she lands on her chest. They are inches apart, looking at each other's lips. They slowly move closer, and KS's alarm rings. They move away.
KS: mumbles: Abhi bajna tha ise.
HM goes to bathroom, KS looks at her and then waits for her to come out. Freshly bathed HM looks like "Madhubala" to her.

KS comes back to reality and looks at HM who is already looking at her.
PJ enters
PJ: Jain Hind KM
KS: Jai hind PJ. Kal aapko Amma yad kr rahi thi.
PJ: Achha kab gayi thi aap?
KS: kal khana khane gaye the.
PJ: thik hai. Hum milenge unse ravivar ko.
KS: Ji
KS's phone beeps.
HM: I'm missing you. 🥺
KS: me too 🥺🥺
HM: thane me sabko bata de kya?
KS: arey bilkul nahi. Jina mushkil kr denge humara.
HM: 😂
KS: hasiye mat aapko bhi nahi chodenge.
HM: Haan Haan thik hai
KS: waise Madhubala Ji aap bhot jyada khubsoorat lag rahi hai.
HM: Madhubala?
KS: sorry wo.. kal se pata nahi aapko dekhke bas yahi naam aa raha hai dimag me. Jab se aapko candle light me dekha hai.
HM: Achha. Waise aap kuch gunguna rahi thi kal.
KS sends the song to her.
HM listens to it and blushes. HM is now listening to it on repeat.

While all this is happening HM is also thinking about KS's parents. She didn't say anything then because she just wanted to listen to KS and be there. But now she is thinking of doing something about it. In her previous posting she has worked on Honor killing cases a many times, but this is personal. But she can't let people deny justice especially to her Karishma. She decides to investigate on her own. She doesn't want to open any wounds for KS. She feels proud of KS for being so strong and brave and leading her life well despite all this. She gets up and goes to her cabin's door and says with fake anger,
HM: KS my cabin now.
KS startles, looks around and runs towards cabin.
KS: Jai hind MS. Ka hua? Aap ghusse me kahe hai?
The trio runs to eavesdrop.
HM takes her to the wall near the door so they can't see them, but they can hear. HM hugs her, KS hugs back.
HM: ye kya KS Singh, charge sheet me itni mistakes?
KS: wo aaa.. MS
HM: kuch mat kahiye. Aaj aap yahi humare samne baith ke kam krengi. Pata nahi Dhyan kahan hai aapka.
KS: Ji MS.
They both are controlling their laugh. HM kisses her on her cheeks.
KS whispers: Kya Ho raha hai?
HM: aapko apne pass rakhne ki planning.
KS: kyun?
HM: dur raha nahi ja raha
And she tightness the hug.
KS: Achha koi andar aa jayega isse pehle hum bahar jate hai.
HM: ummm
KS: MS
HM reluctantly leaves her. KS comes out with a sad face. Trio is looking at her. PJ gestures "kya hua" KS shakes her head, takes a file and goes back to cabin.
She sits in front of HM across the table. HM is looking at her.
KS: MS wo aaj ek morcha hai to hume sham ko field duty ke liye jana hai.
HM: Haan to chalte hai na (still looking at her dreamily)
KS: aapko nahi sirf hume jana hai.
HM: arey ab Jahan aap wahan hum.
KS: aap flirt kr rahi hai?
HM: Haan to?
KS: kam nahi hai?
HM: ab yahi humara kam hai.
KS smiles and rolls her eyes.
HM: KS did you just roll your eyes on me?
KS: nahi wo.. sorry MS
HM: senior hai hum aapke
KS: Ji MS
KS looks down and she feels HM sitting on the armrest of her chair.
HM: aap na majak kabhi nahi samjhti.
And she puts her hand on her neck, turns her face towards and looks into her eyes.
HM: suniye ek to humne senior junior ki baat bhot pehle khatm ki thi, hum equal hai yahan. Dusri baat aap humse majak kr sakti hai. Respect krna matlab har waqt serious hona nahi hota. Aur tisri baat hume aapke sath bachkani harkte krna Achha lagta hai.
KS nods, she feels happy listening to all this and hugs HM.
They hear fake cough.
SS: Jain hind MS KM,
They startles and HM go back to her seat.
HM: Jai hind. kahiye.
SS: aapke sign chahiye the.
HM: Ji layiye.
Santu is looking at them suspiciously and KS is hiding her face in her file. She knows santu is too smart to not understand what's happening. But she is liking the sneaking around. Santu is staring at KS when HM fake coughs.
HM: ye lijiye.
SS: thank you MS. KM chai pine ayengi?
Now KS is suspicious.
KS: Abhi nahi santu m, lunch ke bad jate hai.
SS: thik hai (as if dekh lenge). Jai hind.
As santu leaves they both take a deep breath.
KS: aaj to pkde gaye the hum.
HM: aapko maja aa raha hai na?
KS: Haan bhot.
They laugh.
