Hunter
Bouncing the small container in your hand, you went to Cid's office. At this point, you know better than to ask what is in the container. She tends to get a little testy when asked. Since Wrecker and Omega wanted to get some Mantel Mix, Hunter and the others went to make sure the two didn't overspend, again. Cid likes you better anyway so, you volunteered to report in.
"Hey, Cid. We got it." You called entering her office.
You froze when you saw your ex, Jet watching you like he expected something from you. Deciding to ignore him, you kept your eyes on Cid and tossed her to container.
"Not even a "Hi", (Y/N)" Jet huffed, which you continued to ignore him.
Catching the credits, Cid tossed you, you walked out. Flinching when Jet followed you and grabbed your arm, you finally glared at him. Your eyes briefly glancing at the two aliens, you barely recognized were a part of his crew.
"I have nothing to say to you." You snapped, trying to jerk your arm away from him.
"Don't act like that. Not when you left me and the crew." He growled, before smirking, "Lucky for you, I've always had a soft spot for you. If you beg for forgiveness, I won't be so harsh on you for your punishment."
Your eyes widened at the audacity of this man. You've been avoiding him for a long time. What makes him think you want back together with him?
"No thanks. Not after you left me stranded in the middle of nowhere on Hoth!" You yelled, pushing him back, "I have a new crew and a new boyfriend. I don't need you."
Annoyance crossed his face, as he gave your arm a harsh tug, " Really? Where is this new boyfriend of yours? I think you're just bluffing."
He barely got another word in, before a knife was lodged into his shoulder. Making him scream as he let you go. A gentler arm wrapped around your waist, making you relax and lean against Hunter.
"I had a feeling something was wrong when I didn't recognize that voice." He muttered, making you thankful for his enhanced hearing, "Is this the guy you were talking about?"
Nodding, you glanced at Jet with a smirk at his stunned expression, "Hunter, this is Jet, my ex."
Jet only opened and closed his mouth like he was thinking of something to say but couldn't. Your eyes went to his back up who were looking past you. You imagine the other Bad Batch crew were behind you ready to fight. This isn't a fight they can win. Seeing one cautiously approach and whisper in Jet's ear, he only nodded before taking the knife out of his shoulder and throwing it on the ground.
"You're not worth the effort anyway." Jet spat, holding his arm as him and his crew left.
Letting out a breath of relief, you turned around and hugged Hunter. His arm tightening around you making you smile.
"Thanks." You sighed, seeing his face soften for a second before he gave you a quick kiss.
"He won't bother you again." He promised, which you believed.
Echo
"Are you sure you want me here?" Echo asked, looking around anxiously.
Sure, you're in the middle of the desert, but this is an important meeting. One that you don't want to have without your boyfriend there. It's not that this person would hurt you, it just wouldn't feel right without Echo there. It would feel like a betrayal to meet your ex behind your boyfriend's back.
"I don't want you to feel betrayed by me meeting this person without you knowing." You admitted, grabbing his hand, "This person is my ex, but he's still a friend of mine."
