I feel as tho Shanks ended up bumping into Buggy after the war of the best.He would then go and rekindle their friendship and eventually fall for Buggy.Big-Mom after her 20th or so child she found shanks wash ashore her island and he actually made her want to settle down not make more kids and what not.Of course Shanks was all like "But the sea is calling meeeeeeeeee!!!" (Aka...he pulled a Yussop.) so that idea went down the drain and so did her kind and gentle nature with her kids.She is now what we see in the anime.Mabey that's the real reason why Coby stayed with Alvida for so long.She did look like Big-Mom with black hair and shorter body.Mabey he just subconsciously remembered his mom.?
(Also I'm like pretty sure at least part of this happened cause Koby looks like someone dyed shanks hair pink and made him white.
He really looks like he has shanks hair and body appreciance and Big-Mom's skin tone as well as hair color.!)
