(This character is from a book series called "The Mysterious Benedict Society". I think somewhere it got a TV adaptation but I personally like the books better.)
She had thought she'd been abandoned.
She'd thought the circus was her only option for comfort.
She finally found out her dad didn't leave her and then he gets ripped away from her!?
She's found friends sure, but the group she'd only met because they'd applied for a secret organization and with the crazy missions they do she never seems to know if they'd even survive long enough for it to matter.
As a preteen you'd think school would be a problem too, except she doesn't go to school. Or more correctly speaking, she'd never been to school. Never. As in she had no education. She still wonders how she managed to learn to write, however sloppily.
She could however, speak fluently in two languages. How? Well he father from her young age had been setting up these languages need be if she was to be in danger. But it was like he was counting on her being in danger.
You know she should've seen the signs sooner. Put the blaring practically neon puzzle pieces in front of her together!!
She's understanding that she did end up needing that second language, so at least she didn't learn it for nothing..
She's also in fact been within danger's grasp on multiple occasions as well. She even still remembers how the bomb had felt in her hand... though she admits the opposing organization did good work in disguising it as a calculator even if it had made it that much harder for her to throw over the ships side given it's smaller, and now slippery feeling.
Heh, you know ...even if she has a life such as this, at least it's not boring! Right?.
