Luffy thinks he's fooled his crew. He thinks he kept his embedded fear at bay.
He is wrong.
The crew knows.
When an old fellow owning a restaurant shoos him away for eating too much and trying to dine n' dash they see him flinch away from the old man like he thought he could actually hit Luffy and have it hurt. They saw the brief fear in Luffy's eyes before Sanji told Luffy dinner should be around the corner.
Luffy thinks he hid the fact that Garp scares him. He thinks wrongly.
