《Valentine's Gift》

Prompt: Dream surprised George with a unique flower bouquet and a heartwarming teddy bear.

(Yes- I know its not valentine's day but just pretend it is. Actually it is valentine's day for dnf month. Also- another short one.)

Parent AU

No one's POV

Dream woke up from the light beaming through the blinds.

He yawned then sat up, he unlocked his phone by his bedside table to see it was 9:46am.

His eyes also focused on February 14, being the date today.

Dream stared at his phone for a second before he put it back down, his eyes now trailing beside him to see his husband quietly snoring.

And beside their shared bed, laid their daughter, peacefully sleeping in her crib.

Dream stood up and walked over to her crib. He looked down and smiled at the small girl and slowly lifted her with his arms.

He wasn't gonna let himself wake George up since he was the one who practically stayed up at 2am just to get her to sleep.

Dream glanced down to see his sleeping daughter, safe in his arms.

He would've never thought in the first place that George is now his lawfully wedded husband and has now had a beautiful child of his own; he was glad about both.

Clare must've felt her mattress being different because she slowly started moving her arms, and that's when she opened her eyes to see her Papa.

Dream cracked a smile, "I'm sorry for waking you up, sweetie," he used two of his fingers to delicately hold her small hand inside her mitten.

He gently laid her back down on her crib as he remembered about how he wanted to make this day feel special for George.

Dream got up to the door and went downstairs.

Though, he did prepare one gift in advance, and all he needed to do is add something in it and finish the rest.

Time skip - 50 minutes later...

It took him longer than he expected it to be, but it was all worth it.

Dream placed it by the living room table and went back upstairs to the bedroom.

Clare was now wide awake and is now holding her bunny plush while admiring the spinning mobile above her head.

He went to Clare's clothing cabinet to grab something, but not before he kneeled down next to the crib and took some of her plushies; putting it right next to her, tucking it into her arms.

He wouldn't be lying when he said he melted when she let out a coo.

Dream went through some of her clothes when he found a specific onesie that he was looking for.

He laid Clare down onto the changing table and got her changed into the onesie.

Dream also put her on matching socks with it and a matching pacifier on her mouth.

He laid her back on the crib, as he went back downstairs to get the thing.

By the time he got upstairs, George was already stretching his arms whilst sitting up.

"Good morning, George," Dream hid it behind him, "Happy Valentine's Day,"

Dream showed him what he got and George only giggled, "You're an idiot,"

The fact that Dream not only got it to be dnf coded with the outer bouquet being blue, but the inner part being green; it was a money bouquet.

George took the small letter that comes with it and read it.

"There was a Dream inside of GeorgeNotFound, and it's all real ;)"

"Why are you an idiot?" George chuckled, and Dream only shrugged, grinning.

"I also got you a bear,"

George was about to protest about him doing so much just because of today, when Dream pointed to the crib beside him.

He gave Dream the bouquet and stood up next to the crib; he basically awed at the sight before him. Clare was in a blue bear onesie.

George carefully picked her up and laid her on his chest, "Hi... you're so adorable."

He laid back down on the bed, with Clare still in his arms, while laying his back on the headboard.

Dream also sat next to him, with something in his hand that he got from his bedside drawer.

George was able to hold Clare with one arm under while Dream gave him two small boxes.

Dream also helped him open it.

Inside one box contained matching necklaces, with small glow in the dark hearts attached to it, for him and Dream, with another letter on the lid.

"No matter where we go,
No matter what we do,
You'll always be there for me
And I'll always be there for you."

George was very touched at this, as he now opened the second and last box.

This time, it contained matching blue and green bracelets, with a letter on the lid, once again.

"Simply close your eyes and make a wish,
Then tie this bracelet on your wrist,
When it falls off or wears through,
Legend says that your wish will come true."

George was confused at Dream for this.

Why does he have to wait for it to come off or wear through when his wish already came true?

Was to be his forever.

Dream certainly didn't prepare tissues with him, but he gladly let George cry on his shoulder, "T-thank you, Dream. I love you."

He pecked his head, "I love you, too, George."

Nonetheless, Dream helped him tie his blue bracelet on his wrist, and George tied his green bracelet on his wrist.
