A/N: im very very sorry in advance...

"You failed to mention that part,"Reggie observed, changing the position of his gun so it was pointed towards my feet.

"I didn't get the chance to, you rushed off before I was finished,"I defended, desperate not to get further onto his bad side.

"But you still knew. It was your plan to leave. You were fully ready to sacrifice Luke. I always knew you were a selfish bastard,"he spat, fingers itching to pull the trigger. His gun was still pointed at my feet, but nothing was stopping him from raising it slightly and putting a hole through my chest. I glanced over at Alex who was stood just behind Reggie, his eyes filled with fear. He always tried to make it seem like he knew what he was doing and how to fix things, but all of us know it's just an act for Owen. My attention turned to Luke, who was kneeling in the floor, looking at me, desperate for me to help him. In that moment, I promised myself that no matter what, I would get him out of there, safe and alive. I turned back to Reggie.

"Get the others and leave through the back door. Head through the forest and curve around to meet me near the main road we turned off of when we came here. I'll get Luke-"I explained.

"No,"Reggie argued. "I don't trust you. You'll get him killed. I'll get him."

"I'm not going anywhere without him,"I retorted.

"Then I guess we're both sticking around."

"Jules,"I changed my direction to face Julie. "Take Alex back to the prison and explain the new plan. Grab everything you need and get everybody to safety, okay? Find yourselves a car, get in it and wait. We'll be there soon, okay?" Julie nodded and made her way back towards the prison, Alex close behind. I turned back to Reggie.

"Well then?"he questioned. "What's your master plan?"

"I never agreed to tell you,"I responded, pulling out my gun and shooting the man with the knife. Ryan glared at me, and his army pulled out their guns and started firing. Me and Reggie dove behind the guard tower, the raven kicking my leg.

"You absolute twat!"he whisper-yelled.

"What would've you done instead then?"I barked back, to no response. The gunshots echoed through the night, and we crouched behind the guard tower waiting for them to slow down. Eventually, I got tired of waiting and peeked around the corner, fired aimless shots into the darkness, hoping I didn't accidentally hit Luke. All of a sudden, the shots ceased. Reggie and I peered around again to see why, only to notice they were all gone, minus Luke, who was lying motionless on the ground. Reggie and I pushed each other to try and get to him first, yelling profanities and blaming each other for what happened. We kneeled down beside him, spotting red staining his shirt. I panicked whilst Reggie tried to source the wound, telling me I was an idiot for shooting like that and how it was my fault he might be dead. Suddenly, Luke's eyes shot open and he sat up, unharmed, and asked, "Have they left?" I nodded and Luke stood up, quickly followed by me and Reggie.

"Are you hurt?"Reggie asked, stilled checking him for injuries.

"Nah, I faked being dead so they'd leave me here,"Luke replied, grinning at him. A sigh of relief from both of us echoed around.

"C'mon,"I started. "We have to get to the main road and meet the others." Luke looked over at me, a touch of pain in his eyes. Reggie noticed and almost groaned.

"I really hate to say this,"he stated, "But Bobby's right. We need to make sure they made it out okay." Luke nodded and slotted his hand into Reggie's, letting the taller boy lead the way. I trailed behind, feeling like a failure and a hero at the same time.
