A/N: sorry this one took a while and is a bit shorter - I've had some things happen in my life that meant I wasn't in the right mental position to be writing, especially not this considering the themes of the book. However, I am back now!! Please continue to comment, I love reading and replying to them!!

title from: 'Spiderwebs'

"Luke?"came a voice from behind us, disrupting the moment. We moved away from each other, and Luke looked over at the figure in the doorway.

"Who let you in?"I asked, turning around and grabbing my gun, learning my lesson from last time.

"Dad?"Luke said, his voice croaky and hoarse from all the crying. I turned back around a look of shock plastered on my face.

"Dad?!"I echoed, confused. Luke stood up and walked over to the man, who quickly opened his arms and embraced him.

"Thank God you're okay,"the man (who's apparently Luke's dad??) said. "I went to your house looking for you, but you weren't there and- oh god, you're alive." He breathed, holding Luke tightly.

"I missed you,"Luke whispered. I sat awkwardly on the bed, wondering if I should leave or stay. On the one hand, they were having a family moment, however, I recalled Luke saying his dad may have gone to prison, so I wasn't sure if he could be trusted. Ultimately, I felt far too awkward and decided to leave the room, but keeping in mind that Luke and his dad were in there. I made my way back into the main cell block and went to find Dad and tell him what had happened.

"Hey,"I started, sitting beside him. Julie was sat on his other side and was looking through polaroids.

"You okay?"Dad asked, looking concerned.

"Yeah, I was just wondering if a guy came in here? He's in med, apparently he's Luke's dad."

"Did Luke recognise him?"he questioned.

"Yeah, they're hugging."

"That's good, we can trust him then."

"But Luke told me he ran off years ago and might've even gone to prison. I don't know how I feel about having him around." Dad nodded, considering what I'd said.

"We'll give him a chance. If he tries to pull anything, we'll get rid of him, okay?" I agreed and headed off to find Willie and Owen to make sure they're okay.

I found them still sat in Alex's old room, going through the photos he'd had on his desk. They were curled up on his bed, Willie's arm around Owen, and kid leaning into his side, crying and smiling at the same time, still wearing his deceased dad's hoodie. "It suits you,"I said to him, gesturing towards the clothing. Owen smiled at me, then kneeled up and started showing me some of the pictures, grinning as he told me the story behind each one. "You know who I think would love to hear about all this? My dad, do you wanna go find him?"I said. Owen nodded, then ran off to find Dad.

"He's such a sweet kid,"Willie told me, smiling softly. "He reminds me off Alex."

"He does... he's like, a minature version of him,"I replied, sitting beside him and wrapping a comforting arm around his shoulders.

"I can't wait to smash Ryan's head in,"he said, spite lacing his voice. "I want him to feel pain, to suffer. I want him to die in the exact same way Alex did."

"And we're gonna make sure that happens,"I responded, letting him rest his head on my shoulder. "We should've brought his body with us, and whatever was left of Reggie's too, and your dad's. Maybe we can just make a small memorial for them, y'know, to honor them." Willie nodded.

"That would be nice. And we can honor your mom and Carlos and Victoria too." I smiled, glad that he remembered them, even though they weren't his family. I took a deep breath, then stood up, making my way back downstairs, Willie following close behind me. I sat down across the table from Dad, who was listening to Owen talk excitedly about his adventures with Alex, from when they had a road trip to Canada, to when his grandparents took them to Italy. I turned my attention back to Willie before spotting Luke and his dad come in through the back door that led to the infirmary. Cautiously, I approached them, still unsure of how I feel about Luke's dad.

"Hey,"I said, directing my attention to Luke.

"Hey,"he replied, smiling. "Uh, Bobby, this is my dad. Dad, this is Bobby. He's my boyfriend,"he proudly announced, reaching for my hand. I gently took his wrist, noting he didn't have his gloves on. He looked confused for a second then made a small 'ohh' sound when he remembed, nodding his head slightly.

"It's lovely to meet you,"his dad said, reaching out his hand. "My name's Mitch." I nodded, smiling awkwardly as I explained I can't touch his skin. He retracted his hand, looking at me as if I was crazy. He then turned his attention back to Luke, going on about how excited he was to see him again, and how they can fight the infected together and avenge his mother. I walked away, deciding I didn't like Mitch one bit, purely because he gave me weird vibes. My gut told me not to trust him, just like my gut told me not to leave Reggie behind at the hospital all that time ago. That decision ended up being the best ones I've ever made, and from then on I listen to my gut. I sat back down beside Willie, who asked me who that man was.

"Apparently it's Luke's dad,"I explained. "I don't trust him though he seems... odd." Willie nodded, blinking away tears, and I remembered it wasn't too long ago he lost his own dad. I offered him the best comfort I could give: a pat on the shoulder. My own dad was sat across the table, comforting a sobbing Owen who seemed to have been reminded of the fact that his dad is also gone.

"We should start brainstorming,"Julie mentioned, sitting down beside me and Willie. "Of how we're gonna kill Ryan and Ben,"she added, noting our confused expressions. "I know it's soon, but they'll expect us to grieve, then attack. If we go straight in and attack, we might take them by surprise."

"What's going on?"Luke asked, coming up by us, his dad close behind. He sat down beside Willie, but Mitch remained stood up, placing his hands on Luke's shoulders and subtly glaring at me.

"We're planning how to get Ryan and Ben back,"Julie repeated.

"Ryan and Ben?"Mitch questioned, almost laughing. "What did they do?"he joked.

"You know them?"Luke asked.

"Yeah, they kinda kept me alive this whole time. I've been with them." The room went silent. "What, what did they do? Seriously, what did they do?"

"They murdered my dad and my boyfriend,"Willie told him. "Caleb and Alex."

"And destroyed our old home,"I added.

"Alex?"Mitch said. "To be honest, he did deserve it, he was a bit of a dick."
