"Oof, this sun is rough," Sakura groaned. The 20-year-old shielded her eyes from the beaming sun.

Naruto smacked his dry lips and let out an exhausted sigh, his jacket was tied around his waist, and he reached for his water pouch.

Sakura grabbed a folded piece of paper from her pocket and skimmed through the map. "We should be seeing a town just a bit more ahead of us."

Naruto seemed to perk up by her comment. "Finally, this sun is a pain in the ass." And hell, it fucking was.

Just as Sakura said, a small town appeared in their vision. And instantly they were bombarded with a ton of advertisements and arrows pointing toward the town.

"What the hell... talk about sponsoring," Naruto commented, hands held behind his head with a risen eyebrow.

When the town came to full sight. Naruto scanned the inside of the town and had a disturbed expression on his face as he saw a woman kick a man in his groin and visibly winced. He couldn't help but get a strange feeling that it was foreshadowing something.

Sakura saw a large sign pointing toward a hot spring and visibly perked up, she turned to Naruto, "You want to go to the hot springs first? I have a terrible knot in my shoulder from traveling."

It was best they spend the least amount of money here, seeing as they are only halfway there. But going to a hot spring wouldn't be much.

"Sure, let's just not stay for long."

It's been three years since the Fourth Great Ninja War. People had started to accept the death of their loved ones or not. Former ninjas had seen the brutality of the war and chose to quit, while others found determination in the village's victory.

Their ninja way.

Sakura was promoted head medic by Tsunade, who had retired from the role of Hokage and gave the reigns to Kakashi. Naruto was now known worldwide as a hero and had gotten his new arm after it was blown off by his last battle with Sasuke. He was also currently undergoing Hokage training.

Sasuke had spent some time in jail before he was soon released on behalf of Kakashi when he became Hokage. Not finding the time in jail repenting enough, Sasuke left Konoha to atone for his wrongdoings and support Konoha from the outside.

Sasuke's return was delayed, and the last letter he sent to Konoha was about him finding a clan being targeted by a major group of bandits and discovering they might be a part of a plan that could threaten Konoha.

He had specifically requested Naruto and Sakura. But since it was across the nation, it would take days of traveling to reach Sasuke's location.

But Sakura had a feeling there was something else going on.

Sakura and Sasuke were in a testy relationship, meaning they would have some moments with each other and sometimes sex. But Sakura wasn't sure if they would progress any further soon.

Naruto and she knew that Sasuke could handle himself and if he needed help he could've just asked for her or someone else.

Then he asked for both her and Naruto, which also meant her suspicions were correct when she had gotten a letter from one of Sasuke's hawks only two days ago when they were first notified of the mission.

If she could recall, the letter had read this.

"Sakura, if this letter came in time you are probably aware of the assistance of you and Naruto. Just letting you know that it's partially true, I do need both of you, but for different reasons.
