Almost there(Argos)

It was playtime at the day care.

Children's laughter filled the air like a perfume that only some people would like.

I heard many things that the kids were saying and laughter about.

"I have made a better sandcastle than you will ever do in long life!"
"Ring around the Rosie's , pocket full of posies, Ashes Ashes, We all fall down!"
"1 2 3 4! I declare a thumb war!"
And so much more.

I was watering the plant children and putting on their favourite music, so they would go from side to side laughing and sing along the weird lyrics of the song.

When a little fox girl came up to me, almost crying her little eyes out.

"Hey, what wrong?"

"Someone is being really mean to everyone else!"

"Who is it? I don't see anyone being mean to anyone else around here" I said looking up from her eyes to see what kid was bullying the other children.

"I don't know! I think they may be new to the daycare, but they are really mean and hit us!"

"What? Alex? There is no one new to the daycare, maybe you haven't seen them before? I mean you stick to yourself a lot and don't even know the other children's names." I said getting on one knee and patting Alex head, not touching her ears.

"No no no! I know they are new! And they aren't a kid uncle Argos!"

"Not a kid? Then who?"

"The man in the bushes! He is scary!"

What..?

I started to panic, if there was a man in the bushes, 24 children are in danger of this man.

"E-Everyone it's time for uh- I-ice cream! C-come inside now everyone!"

The children stopped playing and ran inside. It was the only thing I could think of saying to get them all inside.

As soon I got everyone inside I told them to wait near the kitchen so I can go and get the ice cream.

I was getting that but also the police... but then again they are useless and will only anger him more to trying to killing everyone here.

What should I do..?

Call Mr Plant!

I went and got the ice cream out of the freezer and told the kids it would be a minute because it will be very hard to get out of the tub and in on to the cones.

I rushed to the staff room and called Mr Plant...

Ring ring, Ring ring, Ring ring, Ring ring, Ring ring.

It felt like an eternity before, "who is this?"

"O-oh I am Argos, t-the daycare attendant, is Mr Plant there, this is his phone number right?"

"Oh, umm ya" the line went silent for a moment, "I am Blossom, a friend of his! I have been told about you little Argos! What do ya need, sweet pea?" A cheerful female voice from the other end of the phone.

"W-well, Mr Plant protects me and I kinda need him right now, can you pass the phone to him please?" I said, my heart rate getting faster, my breathing was getting heavier.

The whole void to seem to spin making me lose balance although nothing was spinning.

"Oh, sorry sugar, he is busy! Very busy but what do you need?"

"I work at sunflower daycare and-"

"Oh! Hold on! Yuri! Girl get over here!"

I was starting to panic more, it was like I couldn't get any kind of word out of my mouth and,

The amount I was trembling could shake a building.

I covered the phone for a moment,
"Medusa! Can you look the outside door?"

"Okay!"

Medusa, a female fallen angel got the keys and locked to door.

"There ya go uncle Argos! But how long will the ice cream will be?"

"It took the tub out 2 minutes ago! I will take a little longer to defrost!"

She seemed happy with that answer and told everyone else.

"Hello? You still there sweetie?" Came from the phone, so I put it to my ear.

"Oh yes I am"

"Yuri is the mother of Medusa! Here talk to her!"

"Hello?" A little deeper voice came on the phone, " Argos right? Can I help you?"

"Please come here fast!" I said, not realising what I had just said until after I said it, "t-the children are in danger!"

"Now hold on what do you mean?!" Yuri said, starting to panic.

"Well, some guy is outside and trying to get in!" I said, getting up to look out of the window.
"Oh no..."

"Oh no what?!"

"There is more, around ten men and six woman! And they have weapons!

"Shit! We are on our way!"

"Please get here fast.."

The line went dead.

I left the staff room and gave the children the ice cream they have been waiting for.

After they finished eating I told them it was nap time and they can sleep on the bunk beds.

They all ran to the bedroom and got to bed, I started to play some songs to get them to go to sleep and when they were asleep, I left the room and locked them in as well as the windows.

Soon they started bang on the door when I was under the desk in the staff room, covering my mouth, crying.

Then I heard the voice from the phone, both the cheerful one and little deeper on as well as a calming but yet scary voice.

"Yo Planty, you wanna kill them?"

"It's because Argos is in there and they are trying to  harm him."

Just a few seconds later I hear shouting and screaming with something hitting the floor,

Then
Complete
Silence.

I guess Mr Plant was there after all.

I got up to leave the staff room and as soon as I left the room, Blossom said

"Hey sweetheart, it's just us now! Are the kids okay?"

"Yes, thanks to you lot!"

"Can we come in?"

"Sure!"

I walked over the door and unlocked it,

I was meet with a blood bath that not everyone would like to see and definitely not me.

"H-hello Mr Plant" I was able to get out when.

Thump!

"H-huh?!"

"Huh, boss is really just a big baby, hugging his little teddy bear as soon as he sees him~" Blossom said, having a little smirk on her face.

"If the only person that cared about you almost died, would you hug them?" Yuri said, crossing her arms.

"Fair, they are cute though."

I heard those girls say, I didn't think about it much then, but I started to hug him back,

Today seemed scary but it had a nice end, but we still need to learn more about each other.
