Chapter 18 - Click

"Are you sure this is going to work?" I asked, ticking off several items off the checklist as Anna walked around the photography shop we were gonna take the wedding pictures at later that day. It had been 6 weeks since Tyler had proposed and since then, Anna and I were busy planning. And since then, I haven't seen Skandar.

Because I won't ever love someone as much as I love you. I still shivered at every word each time I thought about it. What was he thinking, messing with my emotions? Ever since then, I couldn't stop thinking about him and his words. Damn it Skandar. I was so close to tearing my hair out.

"Yeah. It's going to be a very small ceremony anyway. We won't need much, just a venue."  Anna perked, looking around the shop. Pfft. More like surveying.

"I don't get this. We're the only ones at your wedding so what's the point of having bridesmaids." I raised an eyebrow.

"Because why not?" She grinned at me. "There's only going to be the six of you there but you're my best friends."

The longer I was faced with this, the weirder the feeling became. This was a wedding. The biggest event in a girl's life and she was only having 9 people who were the bridal party and the parents. What on earth? But I didn't dare question her, because this was her moment and I didn't want to ruin it. "I can't believe you're not letting me see you guys say the vows." I whined, slapping her arm.

"I'm sorry." She answered in the same whiny tone. "But Tyler said he only wanted our parents to be our witnesses. You're coming to the reception though?"

"Gee thanks." I muttered. "I'm meant to be your best friend and I don't even get to see you guys tie the knot."

"I'm sorry." Anna whispered softly, guilt clouding her eyes. "It's what Tyler wants."

A smile lingered on my mouth. "C'mon. Let's get this wedding sorted. Got the bridesmaids' dresses and the matching groomsmen's' ties. Got the priest, got the wedding dress." I clicked the pen and tapped the wooden notepad. "Wedding photos, 1 pm. Anything else?"

"Reception venue?"

"Right. You're sorting that out right?"

"Yeah. Getting Logan to help."

"Just don't turn into bridezilla on me." I poked my tongue out at her.

"I won't." The smile appeared on her face again.

"Is everyone here?" Anna yelled. Yep. Bridezilla. Called it.

"Missing Gerran!" I yelled back at her from the change room as I slipped into the strapless lilac chiffon bridesmaid's dress, careful not to ruin the curls that the hairdresser had set. It had taken us so long to find the "perfect" shade of lilac for Anna. Geez. But I loved the dress; it was so comfortable and flowing. And I guess it really was the perfect pretty shade of lilac: the colour of a lilac flower accented with white.

"Typical!" She screamed and stormed off to find him. I sniggered, opening the curtain of the change room and stepping out to see Nina and Eleanor stepping out in matching dresses.

"You look good." Nina smiled, swirling her dress around.

"You both look gorgeous." I laughed and slid the curtain back to its original position.

"Really? I think I look kinda washed out." Eleanor scrunched her face up. It was nice to see that ever since we graduated, Eleanor's attitude had changed; she even stopped wearing a pound of makeup. With her pale skin and freckles, she looked prettier this way.
