Chapter 10 - pain

The blinding light greeted me when I woke from the darkness. As I stirred in the bed, my head started beating itself up again while my muscles cried in agony. I was met with a white ceiling and a sterile smell.

"Look! She's awake!" yelped a voice who I thought was Anna.

"Georgie? Are you okay? How are you feeling? Are you dying?" I felt Logan shake my arm, releasing multiple pain attacks to the rest of my body. My eyes finally adjusted to the brightness and I saw Anna and Logan's head bobbing into my vision.

"Shut up Logan." I moaned and tried to sit up. My body screeched and screamed from the movement and I collapsed down again. Skandar wasn't here. Gerran and Tyler were also in the room but Skandar was nowhere to be seen.

"Yeah. Shut up Logan." Anna smirked, and pulled me up, slipping pillows behind me. She had yanked me up so fast that the pain didn't even have time to register in my head.

"Thanks." Logan and I answered at the same time.

"Where am I?" I groaned, reaching up to rub my temples but the effort was too much and I gave up.

"Hospital." Gerran replied, sitting on the bed. He was texting on his phone, most likely to Eleanor. Anna slapped him from across the bed and he shoved his phone into his pocket, sulking at not being able to flirt with his girlfriend. I gave him a teasing look and he pouted at me.

"This guy brought you here." Tyler pointed at the corner. "Logan was gonna kill him until he saw you."

I squinted at the corner where the shadows were partially covering his face but I knew who it was anyway. "Jordan? You brought me here?"

"And called your friends, yeah." His voice answered and he sounded different; he sounded softer and almost... relieved. But he stayed in the corner, as though he was avoiding me. I wonder if Logan had anything to do with it. Stupid overprotective non-brother.

"Thanks." I smiled as Anna brushed the stray hairs away and pressed the back of her hand onto my forehead.

"Are you okay?" She whispered.

"Yeah. Dying from pain and pins and needles but I'm fine." I managed a grin.

"What happened?" She asked, sitting beside me.

"I got pushed into a metal cabinet." I replied, sleepiness still reaching out to trap me.

"Ouch." Tyler whistled.

"Who did it?" Logan asked, attempting to hold back his anger. "Was it that guy over there?" He growled, pointing to Jordan.

"No!" I scoffed. "It was a woman. So don't go hitting her." He growled in response.

A knock echoed through the room and the two overprotective mothers a.k.a Logan and Anna shuffled to the door. Emmelyn was standing at the door, holding flowers and an envelope. She was still in her leotard but her vibrant hair was out and flowing to her shoulders.

"Hi Miss Georgie." She greeted, walking towards me and placing down the flowers on the bedside table. I blinked, confused. She'd never called me Miss Georgie. She hadn't even called me anything. She'd completely ignored me before.

"Hi Emmelyn." I smiled and the incident slammed back into my mind. I remembered hearing Emmelyn's voice last before I blacked out. I paused, contemplating on my next sentence. She might not want to speak with me. "Guys, can you go out for a second and let me talk to Emmelyn?"

"Why?" Logan looked at me, half worried and half suspicious.

"Go." Anna sighed and dragged Logan out. She knew me well enough to not ask questions. The rest of them followed, including Jordan. He glanced at me and bit his lip.
