Becky's POV:
Two years ago, on an ordinary day, Irin and I were walking back from school together. As we were buying ice cream, we heard a commotion in the distance. Curiosity sparked within me, so I decided to investigate.
"So, you're the one who snitched on us for cheating on the exam!" a guy yelled, grabbing another guy's shirt.
"If you hadn't cheated, none of this would have happened" the other guy retorted.
"You bitch!" the aggressive guy exclaimed, preparing to throw a punch.
Without a second thought, I swiftly intervened, delivering a kick to his face. He grunted in pain, caught off guard.
"Remember me?" I asked him.
"Tch! This is none of your business!" he snapped at me.
"Why not? He's my friend" I replied casually, licking my ice cream.
The guy seemed momentarily stunned, and he finally muttered, "Don't let me see you again" before walking away.
"Thank you" the guy on the ground said to me.
"Yeah, sure, no problem~" I replied, chuckling.
"Uhm... do we... know each other? I don't really remember you" he said.
"Pfft, I just said that to help you" I said, amused.
"Anyway, better luck next time" I said, and was about to walk away when he suddenly grabbed my arm.
"What are you-" I began, but he cut me off.
"Please, teach me how to fight" he pleaded.
"Huh?"
"Please, I don't want others to protect me anymore" he said with a serious expression.
I paused for a moment, considering his request, and finally responded, "Haah...fine, meet me at the nearby park every Friday. Don't be late"
"Really!? Absolutely! Thank you, Master!" he exclaimed, brimming with joy.
"Well then, see you later. My friend is waiting" I said, waving to him.
"Thank you, and see you soon, Master!" he called back, waving enthusiastically.
And so, our relationship began. From that moment on, we grew closer, transitioning from strangers to friends, from friends to best friends, until our bond became lovers.
"Hey, Beck...we've been together for 8 months, 2 days, and 3 hours, right?"
"Pfftt! How am I supposed to remember?" I chuckled.
"I've remembered since the first day we met."
"D-Did you eat something wrong? You seem a bit weird today, lol" I said, hiding my nervousness.
"It's just that... I may not be good at expressing love, but I'm sure that I love you! Please be my girlfriend!" he exclaimed and bowed at me, making me blush.
"Really!?" I exclaimed, surprised.
"I-I'm sorry if I made you uncomfortable" he said, looking down disappointed.
"Pfft, who said I'm uncomfortable?" I replied, smiling at him.
"You mean-!" he didn't get to finish his sentence.
"L-Let's go" I said, fluttered with nervously.
"Woohoo! I got a girlfriend!" he exclaimed loudly.
"Shh! Shut up!" I exclaimed, giggling.
All relationships may begin with happiness, smiles, and laughter, but unfortunately, every relationship comes to an end. In my case, it was a choice between love and a future.
"Haah, haah, sorry I'm late" Nop said, exhausted.
"Take a breath, you seem busy these days. Is there something I can help with?" I asked, concerned.
"I...Aah well, it's nothing! Just, you know...all the auditions and school exams" he replied.
"Hey, Nop."
"Yes?"
"You don't have to come here every Friday, you know" I said to him.
"Wait! Why? What happened?" He asked, flustered.
"You have to prepare for the audition. It's very important to you, isn't it?"
"Well..."
"Hey, it's okay. How about we celebrate after you pass the audition?" I suggested.
"Haha, will that day ever come..." he said, anxiously.
"Heyy, you got it! Trust in yourself, and don't forget that you always have me here" I cheered him up.
"Thank you" he said, hugging me.
"See you on the celebration day" he said.
"Ha, sure" I shortly replied.
"I'll be waiting until you're ready to tell me" I mumbled.
"What did you say?" he asked me, letting go.
"Nothingg~. It's late now; you should goo" I said, pushing his back.
"Ok, okk~ See you on the celebration day, Beck!" he said as he waved to me and walked away.
Sometimes, loving someone doesn't mean you need to be with them. Sometimes, it means letting them go.
Time flew by, and now it was the celebration day.
"Congrats on passing the audition!" I said, slapping his head from behind.
"Ack! Ow...you scared me" he replied.
"What a big softie~ Can you sign here, please, Mr. Idol~" I said, teasingly, making his face turn sad.
"Hey~ we're here to celebrate. What's with that look on your face~?" I said, pinching his cheeks.
"Aaah, I-It's nothing, let's goo" he said, leading the way.
After we chatted, we went shopping, played some arcades, watched movies, and ended up at the aquarium.
"Hey, look! that fish looks like you-" I said, instantly turning my head. Our faces got close to each other.
He slowly leaned towards me for a kiss but got interrupted by me.
"Nop, let's break up" I said, making him lean out.
"Beck...I-"
"You're an idol now, you know what I mean, right?" I asked him.
"So you knew all along that idol's can't be in a relationship...Why didn't you say anything?"
"Because I know how much effort and love you've been putting into this. I thought if you were ready enough, you would tell me. But I understand it's hard, really hard" I said while my eyes started to water.
"I'm sorry, Beck. I shouldn't have dragged you into this. I really can't choose" he said, sobbing.
"H-Heyy, it's the right decision to choose your future!! I'll be very mad if you quit this because of me" I said, touching his shoulders.
"Thank you for understanding me. I'm sorry, very sorry" he said while hugging me, and we both cried on each other's shoulders.
After that day, our distance grew further and further since he was busy with his job, and I was busy with my studies. Eventually, he became a popular idol while I moved to a new place far from Nop.
At least I got to experience all the good and bad memories that feel nostalgic every time I think about them, but these memories also make me think if I'm ready to love again.
