Is this the end?
Just tell me when,
And I'll bend,
Into something new.
Tell me lies with your eyes and your smile

Eddie Munson has had his fair share of bad decisions.
Of course at the time, he didn't necessarily know they were bad decisions, but all in all, they ended up not in his favor.
Like the one time he decided it would be a fantastic idea when he saw a feral cat roaming the trailer park and somehow convinced Wayne to let him keep it. Wayne still wasn't totally on board, but his nephew insisted on the fact. His uncle tried not to gloat at the fact that he found Eddie being chased around the trailer by the skinny, grungy, and very angered cat the morning after his night shift. The couch and armchair were torn to shreds, cat food was splattered all throughout the hallway, scratch marks on the walls ,and shoelaces frayed, where they had been chewed and torn. Eddie was nearly in tears every time that cat had its ears flat against its head, its back arched, hissing.
They, somehow, managed to get the cat to the nearest animal shelter not even five days later. Of course, Eddie was upset about it, talking about how, "If she stayed a few days longer, she would've been perfectly fine... I would've been a great father", but after thinking about those flat ears and her angry purring ingrained into his memory, he silently admitted to himself that keeping her was definitely not the best decision. It took him and Wayne months to save up a shit ton of money to replace the furniture she tore apart and buy paint for the scratched up walls.
Whatever.
There's one bad decision, though, that hurts more than the cat that got away. His name was Steve Harrington.
Eddie's still confused as to how it all started, really.
Their circles don't ever interfere; Steve being at the top of the social food chain, and Eddie being at the lowest, no lower than the lowest. Steve Harrington, Hawkins' golden boy, and Eddie Munson, Hawkins' legendary freak.
Steve is known for being the best at everything; sports, girls, and parties, whereas Eddie is known for Dungeons and Dragons, drugs, and music that's way too loud. Steve Harrington wears perfect polos, clean cut denim jeans, and his letterman jacket. His hair is perfectly gelled and brushed, and he wore too-bright white high-tops that squeaked whenever he walked. Eddie however? He is the complete opposite. His hair is big, looking like a bird's nest. He dresses in graphic band tees, leather jackets, with a signature denim vest, vulgar patchwork and band logos across the chest. His jeans were black and ripped and skinny, contrasting everyone else. Adorned with pocket chains and a black bandana hanging low out of his back pocket. His once white shoes now old, ripped, and brown.
Jocks and freaks never interacted. It was like lions and hyenas; they lived on the same turf, but left each other alone as much as possible.
Though Eddie was no stranger to Steve. Who would be? He's been the talk of the town for years. And they never had a positive interaction. Ever since middle school, Steve and his group of friends always taunted him, chased him around Hawkins, and yelled nasty remarks. He never caught a break, every year being the same. Even when he was seen in public, they always had something to say or do; smacking groceries out of his hands directly into the street, or dragging him outside to the back alley of the diner and beating his ass till he couldn't see or move. He never got a break.
