"Nellie Package!"

"Okay!" I yelled back, Closing my laptop -- heading down the stairs.

I walked into the kitchen seeing my mom pulling the cheesy pasta out the oven, while my little brother was in his highchair already eating & watching videos on his iPad. I sat on the barstool and grabbed my packages, starting to open them—doing a little excited dance. I knew what it was, it was just my new bookbag and a purse.

"You love swiping your card don't you" My mom said to me as she went to turn down Koda—my little brother's iPad a little.

"I needed a new bookbag for junior year ma you know this, so daddy sent me money." I shrugged pulling the pink MK Bookbag out of the box.

"Junior year huh?, Wow both my babies' juniors. One in high school. One in college" My mom faked wiped a tear—as she fixed 3 plates.

"Ma please" I laughed—moving the box to the floor.

"Yall don't understand just yesterday you were born, now look almost out of high school" She said passing me a plate.

"Thank god, I'm so ready" I said causing my mom too chuckle and shake her head at me.

I grabbed the fork and began eating the penne dish.

"Actually, no I'm not, They say junior year is your hardest, but my first two were hard so if this going to be harder I'm not ready. " I said with my hand over my mouth—getting up to grab a lemonade out the fridge.

"As long as you stay focus and don't let nothing distract you. It should be hard. The only thing that's hard junior year is the amount of work you're going to get. They're preparing you for college. " She said as she tapped on her phone—probably telling daddy to come eat.

"But ma that's what I'm saying, I have to guide a whole cheer team, I'm taking chemistry honors this semester, I have a social life. How imma handle all this " I stated

I was voted Cheer captain last year for some reason. But I'm happy about it! It just adds a lot to my plate. Cause I'm basically in charge of a whole team now, on top of that trying to keep my grades up and have a social life. Juggling all that is going to be difficult, but I can do it.

"What yall in here talking about" My dad asked entering the kitchen-- giving me a kiss on the head.

"Her Junior year" My mom said as she handed him his plate—kissing him on the lips first.

"You scared?" He asked me.

"No, just nervous a little. My first year being captain don't want it to tant my grades." I said taking another bite of my food.
