Daisy had tired her lungs from screaming. The people who were here were not listening. If they were, they wouldn't have come to save her. She was trapped for real this time. In the estate she always had some kind of choice, she didn't have to stay for the money. She could have left, but not now. Not here. Daisy didn't even know where here was. A mile away from Joan's Devin pulled the car over and two men emerged from the woods and climbed inside.
She had been so confused and she begged Devin to tell her what was happening until they secured her. Tying her hands behind her back and securing a bag over her head. She knew then that Devin was not like Ian and John. Devin had other plans, whereas they had the job and that was it.
She didn't stop screaming since they bagged her, she didn't stop screaming until the light peaking through the door went out and there was no one left awake to hear her scream.
They had her in a small room with a mattress on the floor and an open toilet. The room was not dirty, but it wasn't clean either. Like it had been closed off for a while and not touched. But it had definitely been used before.
No one had spoken to her since she'd been here. No one had told her why she was here, but she was certain it had something to do with Forks. She wanted to see who was behind this, she wanted to tell them that she had nothing to do with him anymore. That after last night she was done. She would do anything to be free.
She didn't want Forks harmed, despite all he put her through over the years. But she would not sacrifice herself because of him and the enemies he had made. She was almost free; she was almost gone. Almost.
Daisy should have run when the door opened, she should have bolted and used whatever strength and will she had to flee. But she was scared. Just because she had decided to be strong for herself did not mean she was ready to risk her life to get there. The people who brought her here were armed, trained and dangerous.
The person who stepped through the doors was not Devin nor one of the men who had masked her. When her heels clicked across the floor Daisy's empty stomach crashed to the floor.
"Letty?" She squinted as the light hit her.
"Quinn, honey." Letty pursed her lips.
"You? Why?"
"Here, take this and we will talk."
Letty extended a bowl of food to Daisy, but no matter how much her stomach ached for it she did not reach for the bowl. She did not know what was mixed inside the food.
"Oh goodness." Letty rolled her eyes, lifted the spoon, and fed herself a bite. Letty was aggravated, despite the words she said. Letty never cursed, she never spoke out, not even behind closed doors. Those things would be crossing the line for her, but kidnapping, apparently that was fine.
"Not poisoned, now eat." She handed the bowl to her again and this time she took it, slowly taking her first bite. While she watched Letty. Who looked around the room with a disgusted look on her face.
"I apologize for the accommodations, though you will not be here long."
"You're letting me go?" Daisy asked slowly.
"Oh, dear no." Letty opened the door a crack and stuck her hand out. Daisy watched through the small gap in the door, recognizing what must have been a basement.
The door opened further, and Devin walked inside carrying a chair for Letty to rest in. She was too good to stand, and she was far too good to sit on the mattress beside her.
He set it down and Letty did not so much as nod in his direction as he walked from the room, and she sat down adjusting her skirt. But Daisy watched, she watched him and the loaded gun on his hip leave the room.
