Max and Jane did not fuck that day. At all. Like, not even a little bit. What they did do was more fun than either of their experiences in intimacy, and something neither of them thought they would be doing when they woke up in the morning.

Jane got up early to straighten her hair and choose an outfit, still choosing something simple but opting stylistically for something that meshed better with Chichi's -- or, rather, Vivi's style. Jane wasn't sure if she'd ever get used to people referring to her best friend by a different name than she had used for over four years, but she knew it was to be expected. She wore a simple red short sleeve and a black skirt, with a pair of fishnets and black Converse. After she finished getting herself ready, she caught a subway train and walked three Manhattan blocks to the hotel, where she would be meeting her crazy little bestie. It'd be fun, she figured, to tease her and prod and make fun, even though she practically begged her not to just the other day. But how could she resist? Did Vivi have the slightest idea how funny it was, at least for Jane, to see her fangirling and having a crush just like back in highschool? If she said that to her, she knew she'd be crucified, but she could think to herself and laugh to herself all she wanted.

Max got up (after check-in of course) at ten in the morning, spending ten minutes on his phone until he got a text from Kevin to come check out the lounge. Then he showered and threw on a tshirt and shorts and layered a black hoodie overtop, not used to how cool New York seemed even in May. When he got to the lounge, Kevin was on the phone over by the snack table and he didn't want to interrupt. Instead, something else caught his eye -- Vivi sitting on one of the couches with an attractive woman who he believed to be Jane.

He heard all about Jane, how funny she was, how smart she was, how exciting it was that she'd be visiting Vivi on their off day in the city -- it seemed like it never ended. At least last night, it seemed to never end. He made up a picture in his head about what she might look like, having been unsuccessful in finding her Instagram while stalking Vivi's following. But he didn't expect her to be pretty and seem like an actual nice person. Was he jealous of Vivi having another best friend? A little bit, but seeing the two of them talking on the couch, obviously happy to be seeing each other... it brought his jealousy down to zero. Maybe he'd be able to get to know Jane and they could be a trio for the day. But, when he absolutely humiliated himself during an innocent attempt to say hello and start a conversation, that idea was thrown out the window.

He sprinted over to Kevin who was hanging up the phone right as he approached. "Oh, god, bro, I just fucked myself over."

"What happened? I saw you talkin' to the girls. That's Jane right? Is she nice or a bitch? I was on the phone wit' Coco so I couldn't say hi or nothing," Kev said and picked up some food from the snack table.

"A retard moment happened. Actually, like, a million retard moments."

"What? You were only there for, like, two minutes."

"Bro. I made a fool of myself. I said, 'hey you must be Jane, blah blah, how are you, I'm Max', you know, the normal shit. Then I fucking said, 'what's your name?'"

Kevin grimaced and hissed as if he'd been burned physically the way Max's ears burned during the interaction. "That's rough, man."

"It's not over, either. I tried to play that off by saying, like, 'oh just messin' around!' and so then I asked her how she was, and she was like 'oh good, happy to see Chichi, how bout you?' and then after I responded I asked her again how she was and there was this long ass moment of silence and I think I could actually feel my brain cells dying."

"You like her, huh?" Kev teased, a sly smile on his face.

"What- bro, no. It just was hella awkward and I don't know why."
