(Pacifica's POV)

It seems like decades since the party, but in reality it was only a day ago. I heard a knock on my bedroom door. Pacifica dear, rise and shine! said my maid, Lila. Fine! but don't come in, I can dress myself thank-you-very-much! I yelled at my door with my eyes closed, trying to hold on to the echos of my dream. I heard the shuffle of feet as she walked away from my door. I opened my eyes and got out of bed, and them flopped back onto my plush, goose feather filled bed with silk sheets and velvet pillow cases. My eyes traveled around my room. My walk-in closet was to my right and to my left was my vanity with built in shelves to put makeup and a tall mirror surrounded by lights. I looked straight ahead and saw what I learned to expect and accept hanging the handle of the door. My outfit for today, that my mother hand-picked for today. I sighed. I had to wear what my mother said to wear, I had no choice. I used to accept this, embrace it even thinking it's what makes me my parent's child, but now I see it as a box. A box I want to escape, like a animal ready to chew through bone. I stared at the ceiling, feeling as if the world is spinning around me. What changed? I didn't feel this way a day ago. What gives me the power to make me feel this way, to escape the box. Then it hits me. Him.
