Avera's POV:
It was the next day and I still hadn't been able to shake off my frustration from yesterday.
I had taken time away from the others on the beach to find a way to distract myself.
I keep doing this. Why do I always find a need to unwind from every event? Could I not just forget and move on? I complain about being lonely and yet I continue to push myself away from everything with any minor inconvenience.
I need to be stronger. Find a way to move on quicker and focus on the important things in life. Forget and move on.
Change needed to happen. I couldn't be a sorrowful little girl anymore. I can't be the weakest link. I can't let my feelings get in the way.
If I see an opportunity, I will grasp it by the throat. It is time to become the best version of myself. And if I started to believe it, I could achieve it too.
These thoughts were processing the whole morning. I had made a plan and i need to execute it.
With that in mind, I raced back to my pod and searched for one specific thing.
Now, where was it?
Beginning to search from left to right, under boxes and other belongings, I found it within the pile of baskets.
It was filled with exactly what I was looking for: clothing materials.
Well, string and other cloth and beads to be more specific.
Change was easiest from the outside.
I grabbed some stretchy materials I have woven previously and ripped it into small strips.
Then I opened my clutch filled with different beads and began to undo any and all braids in my hair.
Taking the stretchy strips, I used them to tie off my new hairdo. This time I wanted to keep more hair out of my face while still keeping it down somehow. I find it easier to keep warm when my hair hugs my shoulders.
Then I take random sections and braid them while adding beads here and there. I wanted to make them pop so I opted for lighter colours.
It took a bit of playing around to see what I liked and what was actually practical, until I finally liked the final product.
I then dig deeper into this basked and try on accessories that I've made already. If I was bored, there was always an opportunity to weave more things.
Again, I tried on a few different accessories, some matching with a neck and arm piece, others just singular items.
My new headpiece was very simple, it barely kissed my forehead, staying mainly atop my hair.
I tried to find some more practical accessories. Something which I could use to hoist small knives on myself or use them as storage units for medicine.
My neck piece was also much thinner and it let me feel the cool breeze brushing along my neck that I wasn't able to feel before. Luckily my hair would keep me warm enough.
Then, my arm bands were most practical. To my right arm were strapped two arm bands that had small pouches able to keep in medicine - especially Neteyam's cream, and other pain remedies. They were waterproof. To my left, one multipurpose arm band was wrapped in a way to hold and conceal a knife while also act as a bandage when unwrapped.
There was one last thing I needed to change.
Rummaging through the basket, I found an incomplete cloth I had started working on a while back.
