It was the first day back to school and A'zuria couldn't wait, she picked out her outfit like weeks in advanced, got her hair did, nails and toes done she was ready to take on senior year. A'zuria hates school with a burning passion but loves anything that could be exciting and she could low key get attention for. A'zuria felt as though this year would be different but she did not know exactly what about it would be different.
Her school did semesters so she would take four classes before Christmas and four classes after Christmas. Her classes she chose this year was AP Lit, Forensics, Hrs Gov and Econ, PCT, Senior Project, AP Computer Science, Musical theatre and Library TA. She wanted a smooth senior year and to feel no stress just enjoying life as it comes. Her classes she's taking before Christmas are AP Lit, Hrs Gov and Econ, PCT and Library TA. Out of all those classes she has none of them with her friends, so they only have lunch together which sucks but she's sure she has some side friends in those classes.
A'zuria starts her morning off by hopping in the shower and doing her bathroom routine, she then puts lotion all over her body and gets dressed. She takes off her bonnet, scarf and edge band and fixes her hair up in case anything happened while she was sleeping cause she is a rough sleeper. Once she's happy with how she looks she goes downstairs and enjoys breakfast with Katelyn and her dad Reggie Mack. They talk about their game plan for today and Katelyn and A'zuria are off to school because it's their first day, they ride together blasting all the toons. They get there a little early and meet up with Amber and sit together to talk about all their nerves.
"I cannot believe we're seniors bro like this is insane just yesterday we were juniors ready to live this hell hole now judgement day has come." A'zuria expresses in a dramatic tone.
"Girl, shut up you're so extra" Katelyn says to her and laughs at her antics.
"I'm already counting down the days" Amber says.
Then actual nerves start to kick in as A'zuria starts to think about everything and what they're doing.
"Holy shit, we're actually seniors, we graduate this year, childhood is over, we're about to be adults well Amber already is but this is real life no more games we are college bound now" A'zuria says in a panic and sends the other two in a mental break down.
Their happy morning is now them sitting in the car crying about what life is now. These three are the disco dogs that's their group chat name someone said it once and it became an inside joke.
The bells rings signaling that's it's time to head to class, they get out the car and parts ways as soon as they enter the building.
A'zuria's first class is AP Lit, she walks in and immediately sees Bria and screams a little, runs and hugs her. Bria and A'zuria work together and talk about everything. Words couldn't express how happy she was, she thought she would be lonely in this class. The teacher tells them to settle down and find sits, the teacher introduces herself he name is Ms. Star and she makes everyone stand up say their name and something they enjoy doing or eating.
When it's A'zuria turn she stands.
"I'm A'zuria Foster and I enjoying playing just dance cause I'm a beast at it."
The class laughs at her and so does the teacher, everyone then it's Haehyo's turn and he stands up.
"Im Haehyo Jung and I enjoy piercing myself cause my mom makes jewelry"
He takes his seat and the girls are all gushing over him even A'zuria. She then turns to Bria.
"Smash. tens all across the board bro he is fine" Bria says to A'zuria while passing Haehyo some glances.
"I know right, like damn I didn't know heaven could create such a being" A'zuria adds on.
"My friend told me a little about him and he's single" Bria mentions.
"Damn this is good, but even if I do talk to him, it probably won't be mutual or he'll go after his own race which is understandable because the asian girls here are pretty as hell like tens across the board, especially Lily everyone wants her bro" A'zuria starts to get sad just thinking about how she probably has no chance.
"So it doesn't hurt to try plus I heard Lily is talking to Kevin so maybe, Haehyo doesn't want her" Bria explains trying to keep A'zuria spirits up.
"That's true, I'll find a way to talk to him" A'zuria says mostly to herself.
The teacher then ask them to hand in their summer work and gives a detail explanation of the class and what to expect for the AP exam, they will take in May.
"I don't even want to think about May right now let alone an exam" She leans over and whispers to Bria.
Bria nods her head in agreement.
For this rest of the class the teacher just sits has a class discussion about how they felt about the books they read. It leads to a big discussion and everyone expresses how they felt about the books.
The bell signaling it time to go to the next block which for A'zuria is her Gov and Econ class. She hates history and she has no friends in that class so she sat in the back and minded her business. The teacher was this monotone dude that gave them a facebook profile that was due at the end of the week to talk about themselves. For the rest of the block she sits on her phone and text her friends to talk about how the day is going and they can all agree it is ass. She then switches over to tiktok and waits until the bell rings.
She gets to her third block which is PCT patient care tech, A'zuria wants to be a traveling nurse so she is taking classes to help her get in the right direction. Lunch is during this block so, her and all her friends meet up in lunch to discuss their day so far.
"Today drain me" A'zuria says as she plops down at her table with Katelyn, Amber and Jess.
Kadi isn't there because she graduated last year and they are use to her not being there.
"Right and not to mention the day is still not over like what the fuck" Jess groans.
"I have good news there's this guy in my english class and he's so hot bro" A'zuria says while reminiscing the young boys face.
"Do you know his name?" Amber asks
"Yeah, Haehyo Jung, his has piercings and wavy and the mole by his eye is so cute, he my man for real" A'zuria goes on a tangent about how he is the one and literally her dream boy.
"Oh he is in our AP Chem class" Katelyn states
"Yea he is very attractive, I've talked to him because he's my partner and Amber and Jess are partners" Katelyn explains
A'zuria silently gives up on Haehyo, her thoughts are rushing through her as she already wants to let Katelyn have him.
Her thoughts were
'He's gonna like her more'
'She already has the upper hand, might as well give up now before I hurt myself'
'They are gonna be dating soon'
'She's more attractive then me, everyone likes her'
A'zuria loves Katelyn with her entire being but she knows that when it comes to men that's her department, she just has the upper hand, she has a likable personality and she's just everything a guy could ever want, it's kind of why A'zuria loves her so much, she's just a vibe to be around.
A'zuria immediately stops talking and silently eats the lunch that Reggie packs for them. And when the lunch bell rings she gets up and blasts "Custer" by Slipknot in her ears and walks to class.
Her friends don't bother to ask her anything because she always gets like this so they're use to it and plan to ask her later.
She goes to library and they explain to her what she is going to be doing and what she's going to be doing in the future. Today she has to work on people's schedules and assist the counselors by putting everyone in alphabetical order by last name and by grade. She would listen to music through her airpod and trying to keep the chaos to a minimum. When the bell rings, A'zuria makes her way to the car and is blasting music still. They all get to Amber's car and they have their afternoon talk, talking about their day but A'zuria was not in the discussion after lunch she shut down and hasn't said anything since.
"Can we go I'm tired" A'zuria speaks up. They silently nod and A'zuria and Katelyn get in their car and head home. Katelyn plays some music and they ride home.
A'zuria keeps to herself and goes to her room and falls asleep in her sadness, she falls asleep and skips dinner.
Katelyn doesn't bother her and let's her be cause she knows A'zuria like the back of her hand but makes sure she has water for when she randomly wakes up.
That's how her school life tends to go and she has to do this all over again tomorrow.
