I found Conrad sitting on the beach, staring out into the waves.
"Hey, Con" I sat down next to him.
"Hey Em" He replies.
"So, where did that all come from, huh?" I asked him gently.
"I don't know.. I guess I was frustrated because she's been so self centered and selfish recently"
"But, you still like her, don't you? Because she certainly does" I chuckled.
"What?"
"Oh come on. Isn't that why you've been acting so strange this summer? You know, she suddenly looks, I don't know, like a girl"
"No, no, I don't like her, I never did" he answers.
I frown slightly. "Then why have you been acting so.. so strange Con?" I put a hand on his shoulder.
"Do you want to know why I went to the drive in?"
"Yeah"
"I didn't go for Belly, I went for you"
"Wha- what...?"
"I love you, Em."
"I always have, and I always will" He said.
"No.. Connie- I"
"Why not Em? Why not?"
"Because Belly loves you. You're her first love, you'll always be. I can't ruin that"
"But I don't love her."
"I love you Emily"
He leaned in and pressed his lips to hers.
She pulled away and whispered
"I love you too Connie"
"Will you be my girlfriend?" He asks quietly, almost shyly.
"I will if you'll be my date to the deb ball" I say smirking slightly.
"Ok, deal" He laughs.
"Deal" I whisper, kissing him again.
I slightly shivered from the cold ocean breeze and Conrad immediately took off his jacket and put it around my shoulders.
I smirked. "Oh, what were you saying about that boring guy who goes around giving hoodies to girls he just met? I teased.
"Well, I didn't just meet you, and you're not just some girl, you're my girlfriend, so it doesn't count" The boy says cheekily, smiling.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say" She laughed.
"Let's go back in, it's getting late" The blonde girl said.
"Yeah, ok"
Conrad walked his girlfriend to her room.
"Goodnight Em"
"Night, Con" She smiles.
He kisses her and walks to his room, a rare smile never leaving his face.
