"Sooo.." Myles says as we walk up to the country club. "We're moving back to New York soon"

"Oh, really?" I ask, surprised. "I thought you guys were going to stay in New Hampshire until you go to college."

"Change of plans" He shrugs. "We all missed New York too much. New Hampshire was great, but it wasn't NYC"

"How was Philips Exeter?" I say, asking about his school in New Hampshire.

"It was fine, the campus is nice" He says. "It was pretty similar to New York schools actually"

"So, are you coming back to Horace Mann?" I say curiously, wondering if he'll go to Dalton instead. "I heard your parents were considering Dalton"

"Yeah, they were, but I didn't want to go, and there's only one year left anyway. Carol helped me convince them" He answers, smiling.

We're escorted into a private room and we settle on couches and armchairs while refreshments are laid out. It's been a while since I had formal, or formal-ish, at least, lunches. We always used to go to them in New York, but I'm definitely not used to having them in Cousins. Still, it's a nice change.

"Hey, I heard you're debbing this year" He says, smirking.

"Oh, who told you that. I had no idea anyone knew" I ask sarcastically, pretending to be astonished, making him laugh.

"Oh, I don't know" He smirks, and I raise my eyebrows skeptically, and he caves. "Okay, okay, my mom told me."

"Who are you bringing?" He asks, trying to be casual.

"My boyfriend" I say, in a neutral tone. I'm still figuring out if I want to tell him or not.

"What?! I thought you and Ace broke up ages ago?" He says dubiously.

"Well duh, of course we did, I mean my new boyfriend"

"Your new boyfriend?" He raises an eyebrow.

"Ok, fine, it's one of the Fisher boys" I reluctantly admit. I once made the mistake of telling him all about one of my first boyfriends and he ended up stalking him to see if he was good enough or if he was cheating. Which he wasn't. Ultimately, he scared him away. After that, I learned to separate my relationships.

"That's all your going to tell your best friend" He says flatly, pouting.

"First of all, you are not my best friend, Ivanna is, and second of all, yes, that is all I'm going to tell you."

"Anyway, about the deb ball, can you come to the rehearsal with me tomorrow?" I ask hopefully. Otherwise I'll have to ask Dean. Ugh.

"I thought you were going to go with your mysterious boyfriend" Myles teases, laughing.

"I am, but he can't make it tomorrow" I sigh, explaining patiently.

"In that case, yeah, of course I'll go with you" He smiles at me.

"Great, thanks" I say, inwardly sighing in relief that I don't have to take anybody else, especially on such short notice. "You have a suit, right?" I ask. I was fairly sure he'd have one, since his family always packs formal wear, but I just wanted to make sure. "Of course" He answers, grinning at me. "Oh and bring your swim stuff, we're going to the pool after" I add. "Yes, ma'am" He replies, chuckling.

"Oh, and how long are you staying for?" I ask, tilting my head slightly.

"I don't know actually" He muses. "Hey mom, how long are we staying for?" He asks.

"Well, Lina just invited us to stay for the rest of the summer and go back with them, since they're returning to New York in about 2 weeks" Diana says, beaming.
