"Are we still friends?" echos in my head, looking up at Miles. His expression is readable now, his mouth in a slight frown.
He's leaning against a wall with his arms crossed. I think he's sad from the shine in his amber eyes. I then remember what he asked. "I should be asking you that." I answered. He looks down at ground. "You walked straight past me freshman year." I added to what I said previously. Miles looks like he was going to say something but he doesn't. "Do you want to be friends again?" My throat burns when I say that. I don't like him anymore, so why do I feel bad about being friends?

Miles' slight frowns forms into a slight smile. His dimples appear again.

"I missed you, Asia." His tone softens when he says my name. I hug him "I missed you too, Miles." My arms tighten around him
I can tell he didn't expect me to hug him from his reaction but he hugs back. "Oh, my mom is picking me up." I forgot it was time to go. I pulled away from Miles. "See you tomorrow, Miles!" I run to my mom's car.

Miles': POV
Myasia leaves the class to go home. I do the same. When I get home, My mom greets me. "Hey, Miles! ¿cómo era la escuela?" She asks while stirring something in a pot. I really hope it's not spaghetti. "Estuvo bien, what you cooking?" I answer her.
Please don't be spaghetti, please don't be spaghetti. "Sus espaguetis, hambre?" she replied. I shake my head, going to my room.
I set my stuff on my bed. I wonder what Myasia's doing right now. My sketchbook is full of drawings of her. I remember how cold I was to her freshman year. She was my best friend for the longest time and I just ignored her. I think about that moment every time I see her so I thought it was best to just keep ignoring her.

My phone dings from my bed. I reach over to get it. Myasia texted me.

I smile at my phone. I change into a plain black hoodie, putting on black and white vans. I'm about to leave my apartment "Where do you think you're going, mijo?" I jump when I hear my mom. My uncle Aaron is on the couch with her watching tv. "Estoy conociendo a una amiga." He and my mom share a look before looking at me. "Amiga?" My mom raises an eyebrow. "What's her name?" she scaring me with how hard she's staring at me right now. "Myasia." I say trying to escape her gaze.
My mom goes quiet for a moment. "Ohhhh! I remember her, she was a sweetheart! Tell her I said hi." She turns back to the tv.
I say bye to my mom and uncles before I go over to Myasia's house. I text her "im outside."

Myasia's POV:
"I'm leaving now, Mami!" I tell her as I close the front door. "You ready?" Miles looks me up and down. "Mhm. Shall we go, Bestie?" I say going the stairs to Miles. "We shall." He says. I was walking on the side closer to the road but Miles made me switch sides with him. It's really cute he knows the side walk rule. We talked on the way to the park "would you rather be a pig but with humans legs or a farmer with pig legs?" I ask Miles, waiting for his response. "What?" He starts laughing "both those options are terrible!" His dimples are very prominent when he laughs. My face gets hot when I realize how close I am to Miles.

I really hope he doesn't notice that..

Me and Miles are sitting a bench together just enjoying our surrounding. "We should give each other nicknames." I tell Miles
"What type of nicknames?" Miles' sounds unsure about it. "Like a pet name." I say as I sweep my braids behind my shoulder.
Miles looks at me for a long time before he says something. His gaze makes my heart beat faster. "You smile too much so, imma call you smiley." that makes me smile. "Here you go wit that all that smiling stuff.." he rolls his eyes jokingly. "You just don't smile enough!" I flip my hair. "Anyways imma call you dimples." He tries to hide a smile but his dimples are giving it away. I scoot closer to Miles, "I really missed you, man. Don't ever do that again." I lay my head on his shoulder.

"No promises, smiley." Miles wraps his arm around me. "Oh and my mom says hi."
